Morocco as a major production platform for Covid-19 vaccine
His Majesty King Mohammed VI chaired on July
5th, 2021 the signing ceremony of agreements
related to Covid-19 vaccin manufacturing project
in Morocco.
This project aims to guarantee the Kingdom’s
self-sufficiency and to make Morocco a leading
biotechnology platform on the African continent.

MOROCCO EXPERTISE AND KNOW-HOW
FOCUS ON SENSYO PROJECT
His Majesty King Mohammed VI chaired on January, 27th, 2022
the launching ceremony of the works for the realization of a
manufacturing plant for Covid-19 and other vaccines.
Named “SENSYO Pharmatech”, the industrial unit, the largest
platform by capacity of Fill & Finish of vaccines in Africa, will
eventually become one of the first 5 in the world.
The investment amount is between 400-500 million € ($445
million-$557 million) to ensure the production of active substances
for more than 20 vaccines, three of which would be against
coronavirus... to cover 70 % of the kingdom’s needs and more than
60% of needs across Africa.
The project aims to position Morocco as a key biotechnology
hub in Africa by integrating pharmaceutical research, clinical
development, manufacturing and marketing of biopharmaceutical
products of great necessity.
