Memory Verse for the week:

Proverbs 10:27

Day-1 “…art thou in health, my brother?” II Samuel 20:9

Go where were will throughout the world, we shall see that nearly the whole human family is in either a dying or a diseased
condition. How it hurts the God of love to behold it all! He is “touched with feeling of our infirmities” (Hebrews 4:15).
How sad to think that many people do not know how to regain their health or how to prevent what health they do have from
being lost.

Lack of Knowledge…
There are five reasons why there is so much disease in the land. These reasons explain why so few human beings have
perfect health and live a life free of disease even unto a ripe old age.
(1) The people do not understand what
health is.
(2) They do not understand the conditions
necessary to health.
(3) They do not understand the nature of
disease.
(4) They do not understand the cause of
disease.
(5) They are unwilling to forego a present
pleasure for the sake of a future good.
Until people understand the first four reasons and
have become willing to practice the last, we cannot

expect to see much improvement in health matters. The object of this series on health is to learn about these things. Then
we will be able to maintain our own health as well as reach out in love and help others understand how to regain theirs.
Our first question, then, should be, what is health?

In the beginning, man was created with a perfectly balanced mind and all the organs of
his body were perfectly developed. The mind and body were designed in such a way
that they are dependent on each other for the full and proper use of each organ or
faculty. “For the body is not one member, but many....And whether one member suffer,
all the members suffer with it; or one member be honored, all the members rejoice with
it” (I Corinthians 12:14, 26). Health is the condition of the body in which each organ
performs its whole duty. In this state, there is an exact balance in the actions of
the various tissues and structures of the person. The mind is also balanced and
at peace through the influence of God’s Spirit.

Simply said, health is the absence of disease. It is a condition of the body in which a
person has no pain, but instead, has an undisturbed sense of well-being. Our loving
Creator wants His children to feel wonderful every day! His heart’s desire is for us to
have a sound mind in a sound body.

Day-2 “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God,
neither indeed can be.” Romans 8:7

From the Rainbow Covenant Notebook, RED signifies blood means in the sanctuary Sacrifice …”for the life of all flesh is
the blood…” Leviticus 17:14. This leads us to think of Jesus hanging on the cross sacrificing His life to give us a healthy
life. Blood shed on the cross magnifies God’s LOVE to the fallen human race. So, God gave us His law on how to love Him
and our neighbors.

The Birthright Blessing…

God meant for us to travel the whole journey of life free from sickness, with wonderful strength of body and mind to fulfill the
duties of life. But He foresaw the emergency that sin would create. Therefore, our loving God has implanted in man’s body
living or recuperative* forces, whereby in most cases, he can regain his health after he has injured it by a violation of the laws
of his being, if he will but return to, and continue in the obedience of these laws.
But, since this requires some self-denial on one’s part, only a few have the moral courage and strength to do it for
“the carnal mind is...not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Day-3 “…His belly (stomach) is as bright ivory overlaid with sapphires (deep blue colored gem)”
Solomon 5:14

The stomach’s purpose is to digest the protein that is eaten. For this reason, to fully understand the function of the stomach,
we must begin by understanding the entire work of digestion, which starts in the mouth and continues throughout the
digestive track.
Put your hand on your stomach. Did you put your hand in the right place? Many people will place their hands over the belly
button or the lower. The stomach is just at the bottom of the rib cage a little off to the left.
It is large until we eat. Then it stretches like a balloon and can hold a meal.
Remember, the stomach is lined with 35 million tiny glands. These small specks produce digestive juices which break down
the food. Chickens eat gravel to help break up their food. Digestive juices work much better!

Day 2 - Activity

A. When we neglect to care for our health it is a sin of omission. Omission is “the neglect or failure to do something which
a person had power to do, or which duty required to be done.” Put an O by sins of omission or their results.

____A. Gerald failed to put on his coat when he went outside to play and got a cold as a result.
____B. Amy ate a candy bar between meals. The sugar in it lowered here resistance to the “flu” that was going around in
the neighborhood. Amy got the “flu” and then her little brother caught it from her.
____C. Johnny stepped in a mud puddle and got his feet wet on the way back from getting the mail. He did not take time to
put on dry socks and shoes because Uncle Tom had already started the car to go to town and Johnny had
permission to go with him.
____D. Jill’s father took a job where he worked seven days a week all year. After three years of hard work, he had to take 6
months off from the job due to a nervous breakdown.
____E. Marcie spent her allowance every week for candy even though she had a lot of dental fillings already. When a
collection was taken at church for some people in remote areas of mission schools, Marcie did not have any money
to contribute.

B. What are the five reasons there is so much disease in the land? Answer in your own words or paraphrase the reasons
given in the discussion.

B. Family Time Together
1. For 10 days, do digestive walking with your children after meal. You can either do this after breakfast, lunch or
dinner. 15 minutes digestive walk will do.
2. As you walk, look for red color and discuss together what are your impressions or the spirituals meaning of it.
Remember the Sanctuary meaning of the Red color given in the Rainbow Covenant.
3. Take the picture of that thing. Print. Write its meaning to you. Then insert it in the folder you pasted at the back of
the Red section in the Covenant Notebook.
4. Record through video or pictures, then send to my facebook messenger directly.

Day 4 Activity
I encourage the family to perform this so that our children can have a best illustration.

Experiment
1. Get ten grains of pepsin powder at the drug store, and dissolve it in a half-pint (275ml) of water. Add fifteen to
twenty drops of pure hydrochloric acid. This is an artificial gastric juice.
2. Mix two teaspoonfuls of fresh milk in a test tube or glass with a few drops of our artificial gastric juice, and keep it at
about 100F(37C) human temperature.
3. What happens to the milk? This is much the same as that which takes place in stomach digestion. The curd is
finally liquefied, and mixed thoroughly with the rest of the food contents of the stomach.
4. Remember that the digestive changes in starch and protein are only begun in the upper digestive tract. They are
completed in the intestines. The big work if the mouth is to grind the food finely and begin the addition of fluid; that
of the stomach, to churn it and completely liquefy it. While this is going on, the ptyalin and the pepsin begin the
chemical part of the digestion.
5. Take a photo of the activity.
