Answer 1. My name is Arshdeep Singh, I am a student at Alpha College, and have opted
Business as my course. I'm also excited to be part of the Indian student community in Canada.
I'm passionate about entrepreneurship and social impact, and I hope to one day start my own
business that addresses a social or environmental problem. I chose to study business because I
believe it is a powerful tool for social good. Businesses can create jobs, promote economic
growth, and solve social problems. I want to use my business knowledge and skills to make a
positive difference in the world.
I have completed my schooling in Amritsar, Punjab, back in India. Through my academics and
extracurricular activities, I've met some incredible people. I'm appreciative of the community's
support as I work toward my educational and professional objectives. Although I am still in the
early stages of my business education, I am keen to advance. I'm eager to see what the future
brings as well. I'm sure that my training and life experiences will equip me to change the world
for the better.
Answer 2. There are several reasons why I opt to study business courses. I was genuinely
interested in subjects like entrepreneurship, management, and finance, which draws them to the
business field. I look business education as a tool for achieving their job objectives since they are
aware of the numerous chances it can create across various industries. The strong need for
business-related skills on the labor market is another motivating aspect, providing stability and
career potential. These programs give ambitious entrepreneurs the skills and resources they need
to run their own businesses. Additionally, business education is a wise decision due to the wide
skill set acquired, networking opportunities, and emphasis on problem-solving. Additional
advantages include financial knowledge, a global viewpoint, and personal development. The
choice to enroll in a business program is ultimately highly individual and is influenced by each
student's special interests, goals, and drivers.
To create transferable abilities. Communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership are
just a few of the skills that are taught in business courses. These abilities are useful in a wide
range of professions. Employers in all sectors are in high demand for these skills.
To get a thorough knowledge of the corporate world. The topics covered in business courses are
extremely diverse, ranging from marketing and management to accounting and finance. Students
gain a comprehensive understanding of how businesses function and how to flourish in the
business world as a result.
To cultivate entrepreneurial abilities. Students can gain the abilities and information required to
launch and manage their own enterprises by taking business courses. This entails gaining
knowledge of marketing, operations, finance, and company strategy.
Answer 3. My present and previous successes, together with my degree in a business school,
would make me highly appealing to a future employer for a number of reasons. First off, I have a
solid foundation in a number of important areas, like finance, marketing, management, and
ethics, thanks to my business school. I can approach complex problems with a diverse viewpoint
thanks to my extensive knowledge base, which makes me a valuable asset for any firm.
My academic success also demonstrates my dedication to excellence. My GPA has remained
continuously good, and I have taken an active position in extracurriculars in my industry like
business clubs and case competitions. My analytical and teamwork skills have improved as a
result of these experiences, which are crucial in a professional situation.
My successes also demonstrate my capacity for leadership. I was chosen to lead a group of peers
in the organization of networking functions, workshops, and fundraising activities as president of
the Business Student Association. This position allowed me to show off my ability to take
initiative and lead a team toward common objectives while also strengthening my organizational
and interpersonal abilities.
In addition, I have a strong commitment to moral decision-making and business responsibility
because to my educational background. I have taken courses in business ethics and sustainability,
which have strengthened my commitment to operating in an ethical and socially responsible
manner while also expanding my awareness of these important subjects.
In addition, I have a strong sense of motivation and flexibility. I'm eager to learn and develop,
and I know I can pick up the abilities and information required to excel in any position rapidly. I
also work well in teams and am always eager to go above and beyond.
I have no doubt that any company would benefit greatly from my education, achievements, and
talents. I'm keen to contribute to a group and aid the company in achieving its objectives.
Answer 4. Here are my top 5 marketable abilities in relation to my field of study in business,
along with instances of how I've used each of them utilizing the STAR (Situation, Task, Action,
Result) method:
1. Leadership:
Situation: I was tasked with planning a sizable fundraising event for a charitable cause
while serving as president of the Business Student Association. The task was to raise
$10,000 in a short period of time for a local charitable group. Action: I managed a group
of 15 students, efficiently assigned tasks, and organized numerous fundraising activities
like a donation drive and a charity auction. I also used my networking abilities to win
sponsorships from nearby companies. As a result, we raised $12,500 for the nonprofit,
exceeding our goal for fundraising. Along with showcasing my team-management and
leadership skills, this project allowed me to show off my commitment to social
responsibility.
2. Problem-Solving:
Situation: A sudden supply chain interruption that threatened to delay product deliveries
occurred during a summer internship in supply chain management. My assignment was to
come up with a way to guarantee on-time deliveries while limiting extra expenses. I took
rapid action to assess the situation, find substitute suppliers, arrange for expedited
shipping, and modify production schedules. To shorten the procedure, I also worked with
the procurement team. As a result, we were able to minimize additional expenditures and
successfully control the supply chain disturbance, ensuring on-time delivery. My capacity
for critical thought and effective problem-solving was crucial in helping me to overcome
this difficult predicament.
3. Making Ethical Decisions:
Situation: While working as a project manager, I experienced a circumstance where a
team member recommended a cost-cutting measure that potentially endangered product
quality and safety. Task: I had to come to an ethical choice that balanced financial
concerns with moral obligations. Action: I had a candid conversation with the team
member about the possible risks and moral ramifications. We looked at different cost-
cutting strategies without sacrificing the quality or safety of the product. As a result, we
chose to use a new cost-cutting scheme that didn't affect the quality of the final product.
This choice ensured that the product's quality and safety were preserved and was in line
with our company's dedication to ethical business practices.
4. Communication:
Situation: I was a member of a cross-functional team that was working on a project with
people from various departments and backgrounds. Our assignment was to create a
thorough market entry plan for a new product. Action: I encouraged efficient team
communication, making sure that all team members' thoughts and observations were
heard and taken into account. For the purpose of explaining our plan to the firm
leadership, I also produced brief and clear project reports and presentations. Result: Our
team produced a market entry strategy that was well received, and I received praise for
my communication abilities from the team and corporate leadership for promoting
collaboration and communicating complicated ideas.
5. Data Evaluation
Situation: I was given the task of optimizing a client's advertising campaign while doing
an internship with a marketing company. Task: To find areas for improvement, I had to
evaluate a sizable collection of customer interaction indicators and ad performance
statistics. I cleaned and organized the data using Excel and data visualization software. I
then carried out a careful examination, spotting significant trends and patterns. I
suggested modifying the client's ad targeting and content based on my findings. The
client followed my advice, which led to a 30% rise in click-through rates and a 20% drop
in cost per acquisition. My proficiency in data analysis directly aided in the campaign's
success.
Answer 5. My biggest career aspiration is to become a successful entrepreneur and business
leader with a positive social impact is my biggest professional goal. I think that business can
have a beneficial influence on the world, and I want to use my abilities to build a more just and
sustainable future. I'm really interested in launching a company that solves a social or
environmental issue. For instance, because I care deeply about sustainability and climate change,
I might launch a company that creates and markets goods or services related to renewable
energy. Or I could launch a company that gives people in underprivileged places access to job
training and employment prospects. My business training and experience, in my opinion, have
adequately equipped me for a future as a social impact business leader. I have a solid grasp of
business concepts and have acquired the abilities and know-how required to launch and manage
my own company. In addition to being enthusiastic about social justice and sustainability, I am
dedicated to using my knowledge and abilities to change the world in a constructive way. I am
convinced that with effort, focus, and a willingness to learn, I can realize my professional goals.
In order to create a better future, I am also eager to work with other brilliant and motivated
individuals.
