Narrative Report in TLE: I - Intro

Dominic Porcalla created a narrative report for his Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) class where he made nachos. He found cooking the chips and meat challenging as it was his first time cooking. He had his mom help cut vegetables. He mixed ingredients like mayonnaise, ketchup, and cooked meat together in a bowl. Pictures showed the cooking process and final product. Dominic felt making nachos was moderately difficult but fun. He was proud that his cousins said his nachos tasted good for a first attempt. He learned to take cooking seriously while enjoying it to ensure the food tastes good.

Narrative Report in TLE

I - Intro
Hello, my name is Dominic Porcalla and this is my narrative report for TLE.
I’m gonna show you the procedures of making nachos, show some pictures as well,
evaluate, and my reflection during this project.

II - Procedures
1. Cooking the Chips/wrapper
I had a moderately difficult time cooking the wrapper because my Mom and Dad does all the
cooking for us. This project definitely gave me quite a exquisite experience. Not only did I get learn
how to cook nachos, I also had fun doing it although it was moderately hard for me since I lack
experience.

2. Preparing the sauce/dips

I had my mom cut the vegetables for me into minuscule sized vegetables. I have no experience using
or handling a knife when It comes to cooking so I won’t try it yet. Cooking the meat for the sauce
was quite challenging because It was my first time cooking meat before. I’m anxious that It would
get overcooked but hopefully, it did not. After all the ingredients were done, I placed them in a big
bowl to add a lot of mayonnaise and ketchup. I mixed and mixed the bowl until it looked perfect or
delicious to eat based on its appearance.

IV – Evaluation
In my opinion, this is the best thing I could do in terms of how it tastes, how it looks,
and how its prepared. Making this appetizer was moderately difficult for me because I
don’t have experience making food/appetizers because my parents mostly does it for
us. Making this appetizer was quite fun because I gave some to my cousins and they
said it’s good for a first timer like me. The satisfaction of cooking dishes already
kicked in because that type of compliments are the ones you want to be hearing.

V – Reflection
The things I learned while doing this project is, you got to take cooking seriously while
enjoying your time. If you don’t take it seriously, there’s a chance that the dish you’re
making won’t taste good. Being happy while cooking also affects your food quality. So
make sure you’re truly happy spending time cooking in the kitchen. Since this is my first
time making an appetizer, I have to make sure that it’s edible and delicious and
properly cook all the appropriate ingredients so they don’t get burn, don’t get
overboard with adding mayo’s, ketchups etc… to make the taste balanced. If you don’t
have this in your mind, then you probably won’t have a successful outcome on whatever
you’re making in the kitchen.
