Greetings!

THE VICE-PRINCIPAL
The world today is very different from the one in which we grew up.
The pandemic has changed our world for the better, meeting all
regulations and addressing the needs. It has made us even more
considerate and compassionate. It has taught us to introspect and
emerge as better human beings.
At TBS, the faculty and the parent community have always been a very
close knit unit. This bond has always given us the strength to march
con dently and successfully towards our endeavours. The strong hold
of the TBS values, the sets of convictions of the academic rigour and
holistic development of the child have always been the cornerstone of

Day Care
In today’s family system, parents often have to look for a safe after school care for their children, this is
where Tinker Bell Daycare at The British School, Sector-8 and 12, Panchkula steps in. On offer is a
wholesome caring environment under the supervision of well trained staff.
It is a time of change… new beginnings, new friends, new challenges and exciting discoveries! At The
British School, we aim to provide our toddler with a friendly and stimulating environment where children
feel secure and are able to develop to their full potential.
Our Tinker Bell Daycare has been designed to enrich a child's development in a holistic manner. The
children develop independence, language skills, sensory awareness, order and routine through peer
group interaction. A total of three hours are given beginning around 9 am in both the branches. Extended
hours available on request, at sector 8 branch.
The Tinker Bell Daycare staff creates cognitive stimulation to engage the child in active thinking,
discovery learning and environmental interaction.
At Tinker Bell Daycare, there will be on offer many activities which are designed to introduce children to
their peer group and society. Tinker Bell Daycare is driven by a commitment to nurture the child's
potential from basics to beyond.

Each day is structured to include a combination of
PRE-PRIMARY CLASSES teacher led activities working with small groups of
NURSERY - UKG students, independent directed activities and child
initiated learning. Activities are play based and children
are encouraged to understand and enjoy the process of
learning. Some activities take place in the classroom and
for other activities children visit other areas of the school
such as the atrium for story telling or reading, the music
room for singing, the hall for dance, aerobics and stage
play, the sand pit for free play, splash pool for fun times
and swings for unadulterated joy.

PRIMARY & SECONDARY CLASSES
Formal teaching of academic subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics , EVS, Social Studies & General
Science is undertaken based on NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) and CBSE
Curriculum.
In addition, students learn ne arts & painting, craft and paper work, music & dance. They are also
introduced to computers. A third language ( French/ Punjabi) is introduced in Class-3.

organized to sensitize students and the parents about

BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS
On the day of the birthday the students till Class V can
come in casual / party dress. Class VI and above students
are to come in School Uniform. The parents may send a dry
cake and a packet of candies. The exchange of gifts and
distribution of gift hampers with juice, chips, etc is not
allowed.

GIVING BACK TO THE SOCIETY


“Giving back is something that comes from the heart to
me. It's not that I do it because it's the right thing: I do it
because I want to do it”
The British School children are encouraged to share their
good fortune with the less fortunate in our community. On
festivals like Diwali and Christmas, dipping into their own
goody bags, children have gathered together cash and
goodies and shared it with the inmates of Old Age Home
and local orphanages like Bal Sadan and Ashiana.

HOUSES
The students are divided into four houses i.e. Edward,
George, Henry and Richard. Lot of inter house activities
and competitions take place to have a competitive spirit
amongst the students.

Annual Function and Celebrations: Annual function is a yearly
event where the students, staff and parents join hands to make it a
success. The school hires the venue, professional choreographers, sound
and light technicians and equipment, costumes and properties to put up
a grand show. This is the time when the 'Students of the Year' and the
other achievers are felicitated. Lots of hard work and emotions of the
students, staff and parents are invested in the preparation and
presentation of the annual function. In order to acquaint students with
the Indian culture, traditions and its rich heritage, important festivals and
days are celebrated with zest and zeal. Independence Day, Republic Day,
Earth Day, Water Day, Teacher's Day, Orientation Day, Achievement Day,

REGULAR ASSESSMENTS
In keeping with the affiliation to CBSE,
academic assessments are kept in sync
with the national curriculum and
updated as per latest instructions from
CBSE. Individual portfolios of student
achievement are maintained which serve
as an impor tant mechanism for
documenting progress. We do have
report cards and have parents/teacher
conferences each year and work hard to
establish open communication with
every parent. Setting goals for success at
school is important and we take into
account every child's family expectations
and wishes, as well as the child's own
interests and abilities. There is a
concerted effort to establish a
connection between the teaching styles
and methodology and the learning
patterns of our students. Great care is
taken to ensure that personalized and

STEPS FOR NEW ADMISSION
Ÿ Fill in the admission form available with School Prospectus.
Ÿ Attach an attested photocopy of birth certi cate of the child.
Ÿ 2 passport size coloured photographs (individual) of the child.
Ÿ 1 passport size coloured photograph (individual) of the father, mother and the guardian.
Ÿ Soft copy of a passport size photograph of child and the parents separately.
Ÿ Attach a photocopy of the bona de certi cate of the current school and performance record of the
last class attended in case of admission in LKG and above.
Ÿ Attach the original School Leaving Certi cate of the last school attended in case of admission to
Class LKG and above.
Ÿ For Playway and Nursery class, attach a certi cate from your child's pediatrician stating that the child
is in good health and t to attend school. A copy of the vaccination record also needs to be attached.
Ÿ Once approval for admission has been received by you, kindly visit the school office in next 48 hours to
deposit the school dues else the seat is offered to the next eligible candidate.
Ÿ School dues can be paid by cheque/ NEFT only at the time of admission. If transferring funds through
net banking, kindly email screen shot and the transfer details to thebritishschoolpkl@gmail.com. Cash
transaction is not entertained.

IMPORTANT
Ÿ At the time of admission, fee can be deposited via cheque or NEFT.

Ÿ Cheque to be made in favour of The British School, Sector 8, Panchkula / The British School,
Sector 12, Panchkula.
Ÿ Please email the screenshot of the NEFT transaction at thebritishschoolpkl@gmail.com.

Ÿ Once the child is enrolled with us, fee payments are to made via schoolpad only.

Ÿ We do not charge any Security / Caution Money that is to be refunded at any later date.

Ÿ Fee and other charges once paid are non refundable on any account either in full or in part.

Ÿ Subsequent fee submissions can be done by 10th of the due month. Late ne is applicable post
10th of the due month.
Ÿ The name of those students who fail to deposit their dues even up to 30th of the due month
will be struck off the school rolls. The defaulter may be re admitted after paying re admission
charges along with outstanding dues.
Ÿ Parents are requested to read the withdrawal rules carefully. Once the fee payment has been
made, it automatically con rms that the parent has read, understood and agreed to abide by
the school policy.
Ÿ Changes made if and when are intimated through schoolpad.

LEAVE POLICY
Ÿ Leave will be sanctioned against prior information sent through email/School Pad/Leave Application.
Ÿ If parents are unable to inform the school authorities in advance about leave required, it would be advisable to e-
mail or put it on school portal before the school begins on a given day.
Ÿ Half day leave will only be sanctioned if the application/information is sought between 8:00a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Half
day leave during the Test/Assessment will not be approved. Departure before half day could lead to the
assessment being declared invalid. No last minute request will be entertained.
Ÿ Leave exceeding three days shall require prior sanction.
Ÿ Students who are absent on the rst day of the session will forfeit their seat unless a written application stating the
reason of absence is submitted to the Director/ Principal well in time.
Ÿ Leave of absence will not ordinarily be granted on the rst day and the last day of the Term.
Ÿ Names of students who are absent for six consecutive days, without a written leave application will be struck off
from the school rolls. Readmission will only be at the discretion of the Director/ Principal.
Ÿ If the child is on leave or absent, the completion of the academic work is the responsibility of the Parent.
Ÿ Parents are advised to keep their child at home if he /she is suffering from cold, cough, fever, contagious /
communicable disease. Please send the child to school only after full recovery and with a tness certicate
regarding the same from a physician.
ATTENDANCE & PUNCTUALITY: 'Time and tide wait for none.' Regularity and punctuality are the pre requisite of the
school. This helps the child to maintain connectivity and work in accordance with the class. Parents should
appreciate that excessive absence from school on the part of child has an adverse affect on the child's progress. A
minimum of 85% attendance is required to ensure promotion to the next class. The school seeks the active support
and cooperation of the parents in maintaining the high disciplinary standards that will ultimately benet the child.
SCHOOL DOCUMENTATION
Ÿ The minimum processing time for documents required from the ofce is 5 working days. Parents are requested to
bear this is mind when applying for certicates, paper attestation, etc. A processing fee of Rs.300 per certicate
shall be levied for those applying for documents after three months of leaving the school.
Ÿ In case a child is withdrawn from the school during the academic year, a minimum of one month’s notice of
withdrawal must be given in writing by the parent. The notice is accepted on the 1st of the month. The fee for the
notice period has to be deposited in the school accounts ofce at the time of submission of application.
Ÿ If a child is to be withdrawn in the beginning of the following year, processing charges of Rs.300 will be
applicable.
Ÿ NOC from School Accounts Ofce is mandatory before processing of any document. Kindly clear all pending
dues to ensure smooth logistics.

TRANSPORT
The British School, Panchkula provides a safe and reliable means
of reaching school by way of school bus service. The school runs
a bus service in the close vicinity of Panchkula, Zirakpur, Peer
Muchalla, Ramgarh,Amravati, Pinjore, Chandimandir, MDC, Manimajra & Baltana. The routing of the buses is
dependent upon demand and is provided on a no-prot-no-loss basis. Parents are requested to kindly wait at the
Pick-Up /Drop Off points at least 5 minutes in advance. The details can be had from the school's information ofce.
TRANSPORT RULES:
The school transport rules are reviewed periodically and changes are made keeping in mind the safety of the school
children and logistics.
Ÿ The Transport service charges for the scheduled route / routes will be as per notication. The transport fee is
payable along with the school fees on a quarterly basis.
Ÿ The school transport fee is payable only in quarterly mode. Applications for instalments or monthly payments will
not be considered.
Ÿ The parents are required to communicate with the school in writing at the time of beginning and withdrawal of
transport. In case of any change, of a temporary or permanent nature, in transport pick-up / drop point or
transport route, the permission for the same has to be sought by making an application to the school ofce.
Ÿ If a parent wishes to stop transport at any time, due to any reason, it will be considered only at the beginning of the
next fee quarter. There will be no refund / adjustment of transport fee.
Ÿ New transport on any route will be given subject to availability of seats on the route and keeping the route running
time in consideration. The students’ already availing transport on that route will be given preference.
Ÿ The school is offering GPS tracking facility on school buses between home and school. Desirous parents can
submit an application along with applicable service fee (per academic year). They will be issued a login and
password for a single bus route. In-case of change of bus route, repeat charges will be applicable.
Ÿ The parents are advised not to make any requests to the drivers / conductors regarding change in transport. Such
requests will not be considered valid.
Ÿ Parents are requested not to enter school buses to see off or receive their wards.
Ÿ Parents should not try to overtake and stop the School bus to facilitate the boarding of their wards as this
endangers the safety of the bus and its occupants. This act would lead to strict disciplinary action.
Ÿ Parents or guardians are responsible for the safety of their child on the way to and from as well as at the bus stop.
Ÿ Female bus attendants are present in the school buses. If any parent whose child is availing school transport
service wishes to take their ward privately in his/her own transport, he/she has to inform the school authorities
minimum one hour before the end of the last class.

UNIFORM AND BOOKS
Booklist for the next Session is displayed on the School Website in the last week of March after the handing over of
the school report card.
The parents must collect the 'House' details at the time of admission. Details of uniform are mentioned in the School
Diary.
