Recorded Lesson Plan

This lesson plan focuses on teaching pre-K students about the sense of taste. The lesson will begin with a circle time discussion reviewing the five senses and parts of the body used for each sense. Students will then read a story involving tasting and discuss foods they like and dislike. During the lesson, students will complete a worksheet tasting samples of sour, sweet, salty and bitter foods and matching them to the correct category. They will also indicate if they enjoyed each sample. The lesson aims to teach students to identify different taste categories and describe their own taste experiences.
