The document discusses the three components (Cs) of interactional learning: content, coaches, and classmates. Content refers to educational materials, coaches are teachers who design the learning experience, and classmates allow synchronous or asynchronous group work. Examples of synchronous learning include live lectures and webinars, while asynchronous options involve recorded materials, online courses, and discussion boards.

EDUC 107: TECHNOLOGY AND TEACHING IN LEARNING

NAME OF REPORTER: PROF: JOHN D. AGNER

JENNA LYN TUNGOL
PROGRAM: BECED 2ND YEAR TIME: 3:30PM – 6:30PM

TITLE:
THREE
COMPONENTS OF
INTERACTIONAL
LEARNING
LESSON 4: THREE COMPONENTS OF
INTERNATIONAL LEARNING

LEARNING TARGETS:
At the end of this lesson, you are expected to:
 Identify the three components (C’s) of international learning
 Recognize the relationship between and among three C’s, and
 Suggest a program that balances the use of the three C’s.

Introduction:

Learning can be viewed as an eating experience, highlighting the

importance of the three Cs: content, preparation, and service. Overeating
can lead to feelings of fullness and bloating, while under-designed courses
can result in loss of customers. In today's food-conscious society, it's
crucial to reflect on our educational institutions' approach to students and
teachers.

Think, in designing our courses, interactional learning reminds us that

learning happens in the context of relationships, in our sense, we are
referring to the relationship between content-coach (teacher)- classmates.
We are to consider three kinds of online interactions that learners engage
in.
THREE COMPONENTS OF INTERNATIONAL
LEARNING

Content, the first of our three Cs, refers to the series of materials
created by teachers and designers for learners to interact with. In today's
digital age, it's crucial to carefully evaluate and identify necessary content,
as "less is more." Experts must identify non-negotiables and develop
competencies to engage students and ensure effective learning.
The next C refers to teachers, who act as coaches, planning and
designing the learning experience. They strategically design interactions,
considering factors like effective synchronous lectures, duration, and
feedback frequency for learners.
The third and last C is classmate. Classmates are groups where
learners can discuss and work synchronously or asynchronously, either
through recitation or presentations via video conferences or group tasks
and discussion boards.

Remote teaching occurs outside of a physical classroom. Instructors

are separated from their learners in time and distance. Remote teaching is
typically facilitated through technology, such as video conferencing
software, discussion boards or learning management systems.
Example: face to face class.
What is the meaning of online learning?
Online learning, also known as distance education or eLearning,
refers to the delivery of educational content and instruction through the
internet. It allows students to take courses and earn degrees remotely,
without the need to be physically present on campus.

What is an example of online learning?

Webinars are an example of distance learning in which live events
take place online and are aimed to supply attendees with knowledge. The
term comes from the combination of two words namely, 'web' and
'seminar', which indicates that this is an extension of the seminar-type
learning method brought online.

What does it mean to study remotely?

Remote learning is, simply put, where the student and the educator
are not physically present in a traditional classroom environment. Rather,
instruction is disseminated through technology tools such as discussion
boards, video conferencing, and virtual assessments.

What is an example of remote learning?

Video Conferencing/Live Virtual Training
Video conferencing is among the most known types of distance learning
examples today. It takes the seminar-type or classroom-type learning
setting and puts it on an online video platform. Live virtual training is
focused on collective information sharing.
LESSON 5: ASYNCHRONOUS AND SYNCHRONOUS

LEARNING TARGETS:
At the end of this lesson, you are expected to:
 Identify the advantages and disadvantages of synchronous learning
 Differentiate synchronous from asynchronous sessions; and
 Define modularity

What is asynchronous learning?

Asynchronous learning allows you to learn on your own schedule,
within a certain timeframe. You can access and complete lectures,
readings, homework and other learning materials at any time during a one-
or two-week period

What is synchronous learning?

Synchronous learning means that although you will be learning from
a distance, you will virtually attend a class session each week, at the same
time as your instructor and classmates.

What is an example of a synchronous class?

What Is an Example of Synchronous Learning?
A common type of synchronous classroom includes a live-streamed
lecture that students attend virtually. Teachers or guest lecturers stream
their presentations, and students can ask questions via webcams,
microphones, and chat or message boards.
