RULES & REGULATIONS FOR 1st Sir Syed Inter School Chess Tournament

1. The tournament will be held under Swiss System.

2. Time control will be 15 Minutes + 10 Seconds increment from move number


one.

3. School/College can field any number of players in all categories for which
they can photo copy the entry form and attach.

4. The tournament will be played for all age groups to decide the age group
cutoff date will be 01-01-2023.

5. Lower Category player is eligible to play in higher category.

6. The organizing committee will provide chess boards and pieces.

7. The time control will be maintained by chess clocks provided by the


organizing committee as and where required.

8. Writing of details on the game sheet like Name, Table No., Round No. and
Result is compulsory, players should also try to write the moves as much as
possible. Game sheets will be provided by the organizing committee.

9. Ones ties drawn no change will be allowed.

10. Players should report 10 minutes before start of the round.

11. Walkover time will be 15 minutes & if any player does not report within
15 minutes from the start of the round, his/her opponent will get walkover
and full point.

12. Entry fee: Rs. 100/- per participant for event.

13. Points will be awarded in the following manner:


Win - 01 point, Draw - ½ point to each player, Loss - 0 (Zero) point
Absent- Marked “A” & 0 (Zero) point, If both players remain absent then
both will be marked “A”

14. In case of tie, the latest FIDE/AICF Rules shall apply.


15. Every player must attend the prize distribution ceremony, otherwise
their prizes/participation certificate will be withheld.

16. Trophies will be awarded to 1st to 6th position players in each category.
Other participants will be given certificate.

17. Entries will be accepted through email and payment should be made
through online as per following details; -

18. All other matter, whatsoever, not covered within these rules, shall be
decided by the organizing committee and its decision shall be final and
binding on each and every participant.

Note: - Number and duration of rounds will be finally decided on the


basis of number of participants in respective categories.
