HR Department
Engie Cofely Mannai Facility Management
Ibn Hayyan
Doha, Qatar

Dear Hiring Committee,

I am writing to apply for an Information Technology (IT) intern position, as advertised on the
job website “Indeed.” As an Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECEN) junior at Texas
A&M University at Qatar (TAMUQ), troubleshooting technical issues related to the software
used in my Engineering laboratory sessions always granted me a feeling of great
satisfaction, where I always found myself interested to learn more about the field of IT
beyond my coursework. I am certain that my eagerness to learn and contribute to IT projects
and my excellent critical thinking skills, which were honed during my years at the university,
would make me an excellent fit as an intern at Engie Cofely Mannai.

The fact that I am pursuing an ECEN degree at TAMUQ makes me a qualified candidate for
the position since currently pursuing or recently having completed a degree in Computer
Science or IT is one of the qualifications for it. Moreover, as a student at TAMUQ, I have built
strong critical thinking and communication skills, aligning with the university’s reputation for
cultivating excellent critical thinkers and communicators, whether that is in an independent or
team environment, all those qualifications being qualifications required for this position. As
evidence, as can be seen in my Resume, in my “Introduction to Digital System Design”
ECEN course, I have collaborated with two students from abroad as well as other students
throughout that entire course, where my exposure to different backgrounds as well as
working with them in a technical, project-based course led me to progressively hone my
skills in communication and critical-thinking, leading me to become a strong communicator
with a critical thinking mindset by the end of that semester.

My troubleshooting experience, as well as my strong understanding of computer hardware,

networks, and software resulting from both my time in my Engineering laboratory sessions
and my prior knowledge of it outside of my educational background, qualifies me for the
position of IT intern at your company. This is because these skills I have are the same skills
that are required for the position, where my Engineering laboratory sessions involve a lot of
usage of and understanding of computer software such as Microsoft Office Suite and
computer hardware and networks, as well as troubleshooting problems while operating those
software. As mentioned on my Resume, my strong prior knowledge outside of my education
of all office programs on Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Access, which are
qualifications mentioned on the qualifications list, make me an excellent candidate for the
position of IT intern.

I am eager to discuss further in an interview how my skills and experiences align with the
requirements of this position. Thank you for your time and consideration, and I look forward
to the possibility of contributing to Engie Cofely Mannai in the future.

Sincerely,
Noor AlThani
