Himalayan Java: Brewing Success- An Analysis of a Nepali Brand’s Journey to Global Recognition
I have chosen to focus my research report on Himalayan Java, a Nepali brand that has gained a
recognition for its specialty coffee product and unique brand identity. Himalayan Java stands
out as a brand rooted in Nepal, proclaiming sustainable practices, virtuous sourcing, and a
commitment to showcasing the rich coffee culture of the Himalayan region. The aim of this
research is on understanding the factors and strategies that have contributed to Himalayan
Java’s success and its propensity to compete in the international market while maintaining its
adherence to sustainability and cultural authenticity.
Statement of Purpose
I chose to research Himalayan Java because its journey is fascinating. Himalayan Java’s success
can teach us a lot about how companies from places like Nepal can be well-known globally,
even when they are competing with international, established companies. This research also
fits well in careers like marketing, international business, and businesses that care about the
environment.
Source and Methods of Data Collection
To complete my research report, I will do thorough studies from books and magazines,
academic article in marketing, entrepreneurship and sustainability journals which will provide
insight into Himalaya Java’s marketing strategies and sustainable practices. I will also do my
research from news and media of both Nepali and international news sources which will help
me to understand all the struggle they have done to reach where they are now. In addition, I
will gather reports from market research firms and organizations specially focused in coffee and
sustainability. Furthermore, I will review internal documents, annual reports, and sustainability
reports published by Himalayan Java. These internal documents will provide direct insights into
their strategies.
I am going to use these sources to study how Himalayan Java became well-known globally. I will
mention their strategies and what made Himalayan Java successful as a Nepali coffee brand in
the world. This research will also help us catch sight of what it’s like for brands from small
countries like Nepal takes selling things around the world.
