.txt is a text file which can store unformatted text and can be

opened in any word processor. It is a generic file format.

.rtf is a rich text format file and it can save some of the formatting

within the text. It is a generic file format.

.docx is a package specific format and it can save all the formatting

features of a word processor software.


Select layout tab from main window.

Select size command from page setup section.

Set the paper size from A4 to A5.

Gutter is used when a document needs to bind as a book.

This is an area outside the margins that is used to bind the

book together.
Widows and orphans both are single lines of text from a paragraph

that hang at the beginning or end of a block of text.

A widow is the last line of a paragraph that appears as the first


line of text on a new page or column.
An orphan is the first line of a paragraph that
appears as the last line of text at the bottom of a page or column.

A page break forces the text onto the start of a new

page, leaving blank space at the end of the previous page.

A section break is used to split areas of a document


with different layouts.

A column break is used to force the text into the


top of the next available column, which may be on the same
page or may be on the next page.
Text will be aligned to the left margin with an uneven right margin

point
Right tab: It allows us to align text to the tab stop position using
right alignment
