GLOBALIZATION
Globalization is the interconnectedness between and among nations. Its phenomenon is a fact of life, based on factual events, evidences and experiences.
In our own lens, globalization is a testament of how organizations across the world have taken on a global focus and taken primarily as an economic process.
Globalization is the movement of ideas, information and knowledge; the exchange of goods and services; unity of people beyond national borders; and the
intensification of agreements within the global economy. With relation to globalization, it gives us then a ripple effect on our economy, be it in a positive or
negative way.
International culture, economic and political activities grow as a result of globalization. The experiences of individuals worldwide become more
comparable as people, ideas, knowledge, and things travel the world with more ease.
Sub Topic:
1. COMPETITIVENESS- “rivalry among nations.”
Competitiveness has become a prominent business and government concern in the era of global business as a rivalry among nations. It refers to a
country’s preparedness for future competitive interaction. One of the best international competition or rivalry is between the United States and Japan, as well
as the United State and Pacific Rim. It is widely believed that the United States has been tardy to acknowledge and respond to the business globalization.
Although, South Korea is moving in the same way, Japan has emerged as the most obvious rival nation.
2. CONNECTEDNESS- “friendship amongst countries’”
As opposed to the competitiveness, we can view globalization as a process in which we can form alliances and connections from other countries.
Through globalization, technology arises and grow even more it’s then such where connections between nation-states and its citizens bind a stronger and
firmer relationship.
ECONOMIC GLOBALIZATION
Economic globalization is the exchange of commodities, services and labor internationally. Increasing interdependence among nations have been
heightened, dependence to each other economy allows cross-border trade of commodities and services. The primary aim of economic globalization is to lower
trade barriers, increase free trade and provide incentives among nations. As a result of free trade, the government are now able to eliminate economic problems
such as tariffs and value added taxes imposed to the imports and exports, by placing limits and increasing quotas for trading between nations we will be able to
lower prices for the customers, thus, it improves competitiveness among businesses and it creates new employment for the people. Linked economies are
continuously investing and depending on each other in order for them to maintain their economic stability. However, the reliance between nations can also be a
disadvantage for allied countries, because when there is a decline in one economy then it will affect the other economy. As a result of this, there will be a
disruption in our global supply chain, resulting in a ripple effect of shifting pricing in many sectors and businesses.
Furthermore, politics is a part of economic globalization because it plays a vital role in driving each other state economy. It paved way for nations to form alliances
and affiliations, it eliminates rivalry between rich and poor countries, therefore widening the socioeconomic divide by allowing abundant individuals to exert
greater control over national resources, which has helped strengthen international relations and communications, which is very important in maintaining global

peace and security. Example of political globalization is the United Nations, it aims to promote social progress and better living standards to our economy. Also,
the intervention of non-governmental organizations (NGOs) on public policy and to fill in the gaps of the government in delivering public services to the general
public.
Last, Education, some countries are opening their borders to foreign students, allowing and giving opportunities to individuals to study abroad. One example is the
creation of Student Visa, it aims to help individuals to have a better quality education abroad while working. With this, foreign students are now part of their
economic progression.
ENVIRONMENTAL GLOBALIZATION
Environmental globalization refers to the coordinated implementation of practices and regulations internationally through treaties with the aim of
protecting the environment. This promotes convergence and interconnectedness in terms of language, regulations and approaches, to management. The expansion
of activities such as farming, ranching and fishing has resulted in the destruction of habitats for animals. Forests are being cleared while water bodies are
overexploited for fishing leading to a decline in their quality. That is why international environmental policies address concerns such as implementing measures to
protect the climate promoting energy policies preserving biodiversity efforts as well as practicing conservation for forests, oceans and soils. These policies also
encompass "The Paris Agreement," which establishes a framework for mitigating climate change by limiting global warming to well, below 2°C and striving to
keep it within 1.5°C. The agreement also aims to enhance countries capacity to deal with the impacts of climate change and provide support in their endeavors.
SOCIAL AND CULTURAL GLOBALIZATION
Social-cultural dimension of globalization pertains to the movement or fluctuation of different perception, knowledge and individuals around the globe.
Furthermore, it is a process whereby a certain experiences are disseminated throughout the world far side of a variety of means, which include trans-border
movements of people and multiracial communication.
First, the goal, it aims to have a better understanding of foreign values and attitudes. Less stereotyping and fewer misconceptions about other people and
cultures. As well as instant access to information from anywhere in the world. Second, culture, refers to the emanation of ideas, meanings and values around the
world where as to purposively extend and intensify social relations. This process is showcased by the common consumption of cultures that have been diffused by
the Internet, popular culture media, and international travel. Additionally, the interchange of world views and ideas has resulted in a major transformation of the
lifestyle and living standard of people globally. Last, technological advancements, through the fast-paced technological developments it has increased economic
activity throughout the globe. Additionally, it has formed a global village across borders through the usage of social media platforms which then led to a
community that shares common goals, talents and expertise. However, global village may result to disregarding the disparity of world time and world space. In
simple words the world will definitely shrunk since communities has been unified with the latest innovation.
MILITARY GLOBALIZATION
Military globalization is a network of military force between nations. It involves mutual dependence and cooperation within allied countries. Military
globalization is formed to strengthen security and promote peace among nations. Agreements between a country and a foreign nation to have a joint military force
are being intensified these days and this is to improve ties with nations and strengthen their state ability to protect themselves from wars from their rival countries.
Although, military globalization strengthens security and peace within nations, it can also be a cause of war and violence. The creation of different international
organizations such as the NATO and Soviet Union resulted to terrorism. Terrorism is being done by rival countries such as territorial dispute, power and authority.
Wars between nations are affecting our global economy negatively, one example is the war between Ukraine and Russia, it disrupted the global supply chain
resulting in a ripple effect of shifting pricing in many sectors and businesses.
