The State of Sabah currently has a dependable electricity capacity of approximately 1,180 MW as of 2021. This comes from a variety of sources including gas-fired power plants run by independent power producers (IPP), minihydro plants, and renewable energy projects. The largest sources are gas-fired combined cycle plants run by IPPs that provide between 100-285 MW each.
