What If

Linda and Cynthia were best friends. They lived in the same

compound and attend the same school. They both loved each

other and because of that, Rose their English teacher nicknamed

them “Two love birds”.

One day as the school dismissed, Linda hurriedly packed her

things and when Cynthia so her, she did same too thinking it

was a game. After Linda has finished packing her things, she

took Cynthia by the hand and they both walked out of the school

compound.

“There is this beautiful garden I discovered recently, its flowers

glitters and its smells so magnificent; I would like us to go there

and play, Linda whispered into Cynthia’s ear”.

“No I won’t go” I heard it was owned by the Late Charles Jack and

his spirit hunts anyone that dares enter the garden. Apart from

that I have also heard a lot of bad things concerning that garden,

Cynthia said in fear.

“All that are mere stories” come let’s go and take a look Linda

pleaded.
“No” she shouted. Cynthia advised her to forget about the garden

but she insisted on going. She then left hold of Cynthia’s hand

and ran off. Cynthia tried calling her but she never listened.

When she got to the garden, she saw a beautiful flower shining

like a diamond; she quickly went and plucked it and smelled itl.

“Wow this smells so good” she exclaimed. She was still admiring

the flower when her breathing started to seize. She fined it hard

to breathe again, she then fell on the ground and just

immediately the flower she plucked turned into a giant troll and

killed her. The giant troll took her body and laid it on the road

side. Every passerby saw Linda’s dead body lying helplessly on

the road. When the news got to Cynthia, she wept so bitterly.

“Oh “What If” I had followed Linda to that garden; I could have

been dead by now, Cynthia exclaimed.
