I MISS YOU – Final script.
INT: BEDROOM – NIGHT
OLLIE, 17, Dressed in a hoodie and baggy
trousers/joggers. They look worn and old.
POV:
Wakes up to room with red lights, OLLIE checks his phone
and sees its 3am. He sits up, still looking at his phone.
He turns his phone off. The camera cuts away, still
looking at him. He drops his head and sighs.
OLLIE
*Sigh*
He gets up and goes to open the door and he enters the –-
INT: HALLWAY - NIGHT
OLLIE peaks around the corner looking in to the dark
hallway. He walks into a doorway and turns on the light.
He enters the –-
INT: BATHROOM - NIGHT
The camera looking at the light as he turns it on. The
hum of the light fills the empty room. The camera pans
from the light to the sink. He starts to run the tap to
splash water on himself. He splashes himself and then
looks in the mirror for a while. The camera looking up
from the bottom of the sink. He then leaves and turns off
the light. The humming stops.
INT: HALLWAY - NIGHT
He walks back into the hallway, the red lights from his
room flooding the dark hallway. He looks back into the
dark for a while before walking back into his room and
shutting his door. The camera is still in the hallway as
he shuts his door.
INT: BEDROOM - NIGHT
The camera cuts from the hallway to his room and shows
him sitting back down on his bed and him turning his
phone back on. He then opens tiktok and starts scrolling.
We see the time change from 3am to 4:30am. The camera
cuts to a black screen.
INT: BEDROOM – EARLY MORNING
It’s a black screen as OLLIE’s alarm goes off. It rings
for a while before we hear him groan and turn over to
turn it off.
OLLIE
*Groans*
INT: BATHROOM – EARLY MORNING
The camera shows him getting out of bed and go back in to
the bathroom. He turns the light on and the familiar hum
starts again. OLLIE then turns on the shower. The camera
then cuts. We then see him walking out of the bathroom
drying his hair whilst walking back into his room.
He sits down on the edge of his bed, after shutting his
blinds and curtains and turning his lights on. Still red
from the previous night. The camera getting an Arial shot
of OLLIE plugging in his headphones in and laying down
and listening to music. His music is interrupted by a
notification from his phone.
MUM
I’ve been asked to stay late at work. There are
leftovers in the fridge from last night. Make sure
you eat this time. X
OLLIE
I will.
INT: BEDROOOM – AFTERNOON
He picks up his bag and starts packing it before leaving.
He puts on the same hoodie on he slept in. The camera
pointing down the stairs, as we see him walk down. He
unlocks the door after turning the light out. He steps
outside and shuts the door behind him. The camera is
pointing down the alley his door leads to.
EXT: ALLEY – EARLY EVENING
As he’s about to leave the alley he stops for a second,
looking back before he starts walking again, before
walking out of frame.
EXT: COUNTRY LANE - SUNSET
POV:
Shot of him walking looking down at his shoes, looking up
at the country road occasionally. The camera cuts to a
static shot of OLLIE walking past. His phone pings as he
got a message. He gets his phone out his pocket to see
his mum messaged him. The message shows up on screen.
MUM
“Is everything okay? I’m worried about you.”
OLLIE starts to reply to the message, but he stops and
deletes his message. He goes onto another contact and
hesitates to type a message before deciding against it.
EXT: WOODS - SUNSET
He starts walking again. A bunch of quick static shots
show OLLIE walking through woodland area. He stops at a
tree, and we see that the tree has initials engraved into
the bark. OLLIE wipes some of the dirt off the tree to
clear the initials before sighing and walking away
quickly.
OLLIE
*Sigh*
He keeps walking up the gravel path before taking a turn
and disappearing out of shot. The camera cuts to a wide
shot of OLLIE walking up the gravel path alone. He comes
to a break in the trees before he starts climbing the
hill. At the break in the trees, the camera gets an over
the shoulder shot of OLLIE looking up at the hill.
As he stands there the camera cuts to in front of OLLIE
where we see his girlfriend stood next to him. The camera
cuts to the right of OLLIE where he looks but no one is
there. He ‘resets’ himself before he starts walking up
the hill. Shots of him walking up the hill as his breath
becomes more laboured.
He makes it to the top of the hill as the sun is setting
and sits down on a bench to take in the view for a bit.
He puts his bag to the side of him. The camera getting
him and the sunset in one shot. He pulls his phone out
his pocket and opens the contact from earlier.
He starts typing.
OLLIE pulls out a dinosaur bracelet from his pocket.
OLLIE
Remember when you gave me this bracelet when we
first started dating? All those years ago. I want to
give it back to you so you can hold onto it for me.
Love Ollie.
As he sends his final message, he places it on the bench
as he stands up and looks at the sunset before turning
and walking back.
