As we enter the holiday season, we are reminded County Long Run Fire Department. The local EMTs
of the goodwill that comes along with it. Local Cub were also given popcorn as acknowledgment.

Grapplers compete at CMR

The holidays wouldn’t be complete if the 46th
Annual CMR Holiday Classic in Great Falls was not on
the Glasgow wrestling schedule.
The Scotties will host Malta in a dual Friday
afternoon at 1. Wrestling will be under the lights and
that will be it for the year of 2023 until the Scots resume
action with their final home performance on January
2nd, 2024.
The Scotties have made the trek to Great Falls for
many years and have competed well. Last weekend the
Scotties scored 86 points to finish 16th out of 57 teams
in the boys tournament. Glasgow topped the 27 Class
B/C programs competing at CMR.
The girls had 37 points and were 26th out of 50
teams. The Scotties were ninth out of 20 Class B/C
teams.
Billings Senior won the girls title for the third
straight year with 337 points. Billings West had 270
points to win the boys crown, also for the third straight
year.
Cody Kuka at 113 pounds and Khye Gamas at 152
pounds finished fourth. William Kirkland at 160 was
fifth and Michael King at 170 sixth.
Riley Clampitt led the girls with a third place finish
at 145. Tyler King, Gabe Monroe, and Joaquin Torres
were eliminated during the Friday rounds.
While the varsity was competing at CMR across
town the junior varsity were at Great Falls High
competing at the Walt and Trudy Tournament. Makiya
Plummer won the Frosh 113A title while John Yeska
won the Frosh 113B crown. Tyler King, after losing out
at CMR came back to place second in the Frosh 120A
weight class.
Kuka went 3-0 after the Friday competition was over.
He had two pins and a 2-1 decision in Sudden victory.
Kuka lost to Trey Starcher of Forsyth to take fourth.
Gamas also went 3-0 with two pins and a decision.
The sophomore lost to Kaleb Shine of Glacier in the
third place bout.
Kirkland went 4-0 ith three pins and a decision.
Kirkland defeated Ted Holland of Dillon to take fifth.
Michael King was 3-1 after falling 6-3 in the
quarterfinals. King lost to Blaine Cronk of Columbia
Falls for sixth.
