Title of the Project

"Sunshine Smiles: lead foundation


Illuminating Lives, Embracing Childhood Dreams"
Introduction
LEAD Foundation, Navi Mumbai, India is a completely volunteer
driven NGO (Registered Public Charitable Trust) were Love,
Education & Aspiration to change destinies- that is what LEAD
stands for. wherein a group of like-minded people viz. young working
professionals, homemakers, students & senior citizens have united by
the desire to educate and thereby, change the destines of the lesser
fortunate ones.

Lead foundation primarily work with the children living in the


shanties/ street shelters of Navi-Mumbai who hail from the
disadvantaged families of construction workers & other daily wagers.
We first admit these children into the nearby municipal schools &
then strive to provide a cheerful environment for their holistic
development to prevent their early drop out due to their problems at
home.

They have 2-day care centers, one each at Airoli & Ghansoli, New
Mumbai. In the past 15 years, many children from their NGO have
completed their formal education, professional courses and have
become self-dependent.
STUDENT PROJECT ACTIVITIES
Description of the project theme & area

I was allocated students from jr.kg to std seventh. They were from
semi-English government school in Navi Mumbai, I helped them in their school
syllables which includes planning and conducting lessons, creating & give them
knowledge by giving them examples and recorded videos from YouTube.

Project Objectives

To empower students with knowledge and skills.


• To play the role of mentor
• Guide students in their studies and other
• Integrate creative activities and art programs to nurture student’s
talent.
• Providing arithmetic insights, basic digital knowledge, financial
learnings etc.

Major activities Undertaken.

The major activities undertaken by the NGO focused on underprivileged


students and their academic and creative development.

Pedagogy Adopted

The goal was to create an engaging and supportive learning


environment that addresses the unique needs and challenges of each
learner. I visited the lead foundation’s Ghansoli center where I taught
students of various standards in various subjects such as Math,
Science, and English. I also guided them in other study-related issues.
Integrated creative pursuit as we held drawing and coloring activities
to create a more engaging learning experience.

Outputs/ Outcomes/ Results

The result of the internship project in Ghansoli showcased a positive


transformation in behavior of 20 students.

Learning and Challenges

The experience emphasized the significance of recognizing and


accommodating diverse learning styles among beneficiaries. I learned
the significance of approach methods to be used with different
individuals and the importance of organizing activities.

different subjects through creative activities enhanced overall
engagement and understanding among participants.

The hurdles of this week were Language differences among


participants required careful consideration. Finding innovative ways
to deliver quality education with limited materials requires
resourcefulness and creativity. Lack of Coordination on studies with
some students was also a part of hurdles. Language was a barrier with
some students.
