Final 3

The document is a capstone project report on designing a solar panel cleaner. It discusses the need to regularly clean solar panels to maximize energy output. It then covers literature on photovoltaic cells, solar panels, cleaning methods and the factors affecting cleaning. The project details the developed system - including costs, hardware used, model making and performance analysis. It is concluded that the designed solar panel cleaner can effectively clean panels and provide around 30% more energy than dusty panels.

ABSTRACT

The solar PV modules are generally employed in dusty environments which is

the case in tropical countries like India. The dust gets accumulated on the front
surface of the module and blocks the incident light from the sun. It reduces the
power generation capacity of the module. The power output reduces as much as
50% if the module is not cleaned for a month. In order to regularly clean the
dust, a semi-automatic cleaning system has been designed, which removes the
dust on the solar panel and also cleans the module . In terms of daily energy
generation, the presented semi-automatic cleaning scheme provides about 30%
more energy output when compared to the dust accumulated PV module.
We have designed this prototype of solar panel cleaning. We have designed a
solar panel cleaner which cleans the solar panel in such a way that all the dust as
well as the dirt will be cleaned. With the help of jet spray at high pressure. And
dirt will be removed with the help of brushes. There are different types of
modes of spraying the water supply through the jet . Like showering ,
gardening, and focus mode . The focus mode is there for cleaning the dark or
major stain or dirt . There are brushes which will remove all the dust from the
panel without any damage . Because they are not so hard to crack any damages
and they can clean the dust properly .The water supply pipe is already given
directly to the brushes . So that we don't need any conventional way for water
supply . And for handling the rod is available for us .This will able to clean the
panel properly
