UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS OF
GROUP ANGIOSPERMS
Angiosperms are able to grow in a variety of
habitats. They can grow as trees, shrubs, bushes,
herbs, and small flowering plants.
All angiosperms have flowers at some stage in their
life. The flowers serve as the reproductive organs
for the plant, providing them a means of
exchanging genetic information.
Angiosperms have stamens which are the
reproductive structures found in flowers that
produce the pollen grains that carry the male
genetic information.
Has complete and lignified vascular tissue. Xylem
has both tracheid and xylem vessels meanwhile
phloem has both sieve tubes and companion cells.
Has true roots, stems and leaves.

UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS OF
RANUNCULALES

Ranunculus auricomus, known as goldilocks

buttercup or Greenland buttercup, is a perennial
species of buttercup native to Eurasia. It is a
calcicole typically found in moist woods and at the
margins of woods.
In Ranunculales, the petals seem to have evolved
from staminodes (sterile stamens) rather than
bracts (floral leaves), and the carpels are unfused in
most members of the order.
It is a short and slightly hairy perennial herb with
bright yellow flowers.
is a perennial herb which is characteristic of
deciduous woodland growing over base rich soils
such as those underlain by chalk or limestone.
It has been recorded growing among scrub, along
roadsides and infrequently on open moorland in
locations which are sheltered by boulders and on
sheltered mountain ledges.
Flowering starts in April and peaks at the end of
may and start of June.
