AIRBASE PROTECTION AND SECURITY
Enjoy an action-packed physical role, performing security duties around
Air Force bases, protecting the multi-million-dollar aviation assets that
protect Australia.
Expert training will equip you with the skills to carry out patrols,
use a variety of weapons, apply self-defence measures, and respond
to security threats fast, effectively, and with a cool head. You’ll need
to maintain high-levels of fitness and have the resources to operate
in adverse conditions.

Training will equip you with the level of fitness and stamina required
to operate in a small team for long periods in austere situations.
You’ll learn how to be resourceful and innovative to ensure mission
success — and conduct both mounted and dismounted patrols,
construct field defences, and conduct search and clearance

Put your mental and physical resilience to the test in this high-octane security role,
protecting Air Force personnel, aircraft, infrastructure and classified information.

FIREFIGHTER
Choose a fire and rescue career with unique and rewarding challenges, providing asset
and aircraft rescue firefighting services on air bases, both domestically and operationally.
You'll be trained in advanced first aid and given the skills to respond quickly and decisively
to aircraft crashes, motor vehicle accidents, wildfires and chemical contamination.
Your critical mission will be to minimise casualties and the destruction of infrastructure and
environment, whilst ensuring the safety of aircraft and defence assets to help maintain the
Air Force’s capability. You may also provide aid to the civil community when required.

Take responsibility for military law enforcement in this exciting role that builds on civilian
police work, and has the added dimensions of protecting personnel and equipment to
safeguard military operations.

Operate complex sensors, systems and networks to support
our national security interests at home and abroad. As a critical
member of a team defending our airspace, you’ll provide
time-sensitive intelligence that supports tactical air battle
management, missile warning and operational decision-making.

Produce geospatial intelligence products to support Australian national interests
and ADF operations.

analytical skills, you'll be trained to use highly-classified surveillance technology

DENTAL ASSISTANT
Become an important member of the Air Force healthcare team, providing
Dentists with chair-side support, being the first point of contact for patients,
and contributing to high-quality dental treatment.
You'll be trained to prepare and maintain the dental operatory, clean and sterilise
equipment, manage dental records and organise X-rays. Much of this work will be
carried out in modern clinics on base, but you'll also enjoy the challenge and variety
of providing services in deployed environments in Australia and overseas.

Provide Doctors and Nurses with assistance in hospitals and on operational
deployments across Australia and overseas in this diverse and rewarding
healthcare job with a difference.
This is an excellent alternative to a paramedic role in the civilian world, where
you’ll be fully trained to work with highly qualified specialists and the latest
technology. Your work could range from carrying out nursing duties in an Air
Force health facility to providing pre-hospital care and support, participating in
aeromedical evacuations or caring for victims of a natural disaster.

Play an integral role in delivering Air Force capability by enabling Military Public
Affairs within Air Force and supporting operations. You’ll be responsible for
capturing imagery and vision in support of Whole of Government objectives,
military operations, exercises and activities, as well as Defence supported public
events, at home and overseas. Operating independently or as a member of a
Military Camera Team, your work will directly influence Air Force’s brand and
reputation.

AIRCRAFT ARMAMENT TECHNICIAN
Work with cutting edge aircraft and armaments technology, maintaining and
repairing the formidable aerial weapon systems that are critical to the defence
of Australia, its people and its interests.
Your responsibilities will range from the high-tech onboard computers that control,
aim and guide the weapons, to the integrity of the missiles and bombs themselves.
You'll also be trained to handle, load and prepare armaments, as well as maintain
aircraft ejection seats and fire extinguishing systems.

AIRCRAFT FABRICATOR
Work on some of the world's most technologically-advanced military aircraft,
manufacturing, assembling, installing and repairing their structural and
associated components.

In a job that's of critical importance to all who fly, you’ll work with advanced
flight helmets, oxygen masks, escape equipment, life preservers, life rafts,
rescue pyrotechnics and specialist fabrics. You'll be trained to fit and maintain

A key member of a team of highly mobile tradespeople, training will equip you
with the skills for site planning, excavations, timber and steel constructions,
concreting and assisting allied trades on deployments to temporary and
permanent airfields in Australia and overseas. You’ll also be trained in general
and specialist vehicle operation and will participate in ground defence exercises.

Enjoy new technical challenges plus opportunities for travel, installing and
maintaining electrical systems for air bases and temporary airfields in
Australia and overseas.
In diverse locations and often at short notice, your key role will be to
install electrical power generation and distribution systems for military
operations abroad. You’ll also be trained to maintain runway lighting
and install power reticulation for new developments on established air bases.

Find rewarding new outlets for your trade skills and qualifications, working on
formidable military equipment that's critical to Air Force operations and the
defence of Australia and its interests.
With the official title of Ground Mechanical Engineering Fitter, you'll repair
and maintain equipment such as all-terrain vehicles, aircraft arrestor systems,
refuelling equipment, Defence fuel instillation operations, weapons and
hydraulic systems. This rewarding work comes with opportunities to travel,
including overseas on deployments.

Enjoy the challenge of working in diverse and remote locations, operating a variety
of earth moving equipment to help construct infrastructure on military operations.

MOTOR MECHANIC
Set your career sights higher than car servicing and pink slip inspections —
and apply your mechanic skills to an amazing variety of state-of-the-art
Air Force vehicles and equipment.
With the official title of Ground Support Equipment Technician, you'll be trained
to not only maintain motor vehicles, electrical equipment and hydraulic systems,
but also aviation technology including aircraft ground support and arrestor
systems, aircraft loaders, refuelling equipment, Defence fuel instillation
operations and aeronautical components.

management of Air Force’s network capabilities during air, space, cyber and ground
operations. Through comprehensive training you will become an expert in your field,

accreditation of end-to-end cyberspace systems.
