What are Chords?
In music, a guitar chord is a set of notes played on a guitar.
Types of Chords:
Open Chords / Barre Chords / Power Chords.
How chords are formed and types:
Major Chords
A major chord occurs when three notes are played together to form
what’s known as a triad. The notes that form a major chord triad are
the root, a major third and a perfect fifth.
Root: Refers to the Note for which you want to play the major chord.
Major Third: Refers to the note that is exactly 4 half steps from the
root note.
Perfect Fifth: A perfect fifth is exactly 7 half steps up from the root
note.
Minor Chords
A minor chord contains the 1st, flattened (lowered) 3rd, and 5th
notes of the major scale that it's named for.
