YOU WERE WRONG: 2023
SHATTERING STEREOTYPES!

HAUNTED ELEGANCE
They say that college life is always grey,
serious without the fun things, but is it
really like that? Well, people like me have a
different view in life, and here's why! Join
me on an adventure as I unravel the
delightful tapestry of the magical
Halloween bash on November 3 and the
spirited university election on October 9—a
lively chapter in my freshman tale!
To kick off our journey, let's dive into the
magical Halloween bash. Picture this, I
aimed for a runaway bride look but
unintentionally became a nighttime angel,
surrounded by friends in elegant darkness.
Beyond costumes, we ventured into a
spooky realm, with familiar faces
delightfully giving us goosebumps—it was
both eerie and incredibly fun.
FIRST-YEAR DECISION-MAKING
The highlight? Spine-chilling stories keeping us on the edge and movie-like trailers blending scares with
giggles. Creative pals made us laugh, get a bit scared, etching cool memories that challenge the notion of
college being only about stress.
Being a first-year student, the Halloween bash served as a catalyst for forming friendships. We laughed,
got a bit spooked, making freshman life less daunting. The time spent was worth it, weaving bonds and
savoring the joyous side of college.
Now, jump to election day. Our first time voting as freshmen—it was a one-party show, no competition!
Before voting, there was this thing called "miting de avance" where the aspiring leaders talked about
their plans. Even though we weren't running, it was interesting to hear what they had to say about
making our uni better.
Then came the voting part. It was our first time doing it, and even with
just one group, it felt kind of a big deal. We were part of the decision-
making, even as fresh faces on campus.
These two happenings—the fun Halloween gathering and our initial
venture into university politics—proved that college isn't just about
stress. Beyond the academic side, we found joy in making friends and
contributing to uni choices. These experiences unveiled the happier
aspects of college life, and I'm excited about the many adventures
awaiting us in the future!
