Study the given techniques when adding to get a sum up to 50 in an easy way.
Step 1: Add the digits in the ones place.
7 + 1 = 8 (the values in the ones place)
Step 2: Then, add the values of the tens digits quickly.
10 + 30 = 40 (the values in tens place)
Step 3: Add the sums together.
8 + 40 = 48
17 + 31 = 48
