2.Safety precautions

To minimize the risk of personal injury or property damage it is important that the following safe
servicing practices be observed.

1) Read carefully the instruction booklet supplied with the Washing machine from time to time. Be
sure you are operating Washing machine properly.

2) Know the location of customer's Washing machine circuit breakers or fuses.

3) Before servicing the Washing machine, UNPLUG the power cord before performing any repairs
or removing any panel. Note Except for electrical & partly mechanical performance testing, none
of repairs require electrical power.

4) Be careful when handling Washing machine rear panel and access panel, parts or any
components, which may, have sharp edges. Avoid placing your hand into any area of the
Washing machine, which can’t first visually be inspected for sharp edges.

5) Always use the correct tools for a job and make sure tools are in good condition. Worn, faulty
and misused tools can cause accidents.

6) Never interfere with or bypass the operation of any switch, component or feature of the Washing
machine.

7) Use only replacement parts of the same size and capacity as per the list of parts. If you have
any questions, contact our branch.

8) When replacing any component, be sure any green ground wires are connected securely in their
original position to avoid danger of shock or short circuit.

9) Before connecting the power supply, make sure no uninstalling wires or terminals are touching
the cabinet. Electrical wiring and all grounds must be correctly reconnected and secured away
from sharp edges, components and moving parts. All panel and covers etc. should be reinstalled
before the Washing machine are plugged in.

10) The line cord must be plugged into a grounded, three-pin plug. Never cut or remove the third

7. Installation
Proper installation of a washing machine is important to washing machine's operation. So please
read and do as stated to ensure correct installation.

How to install

a) Choosing the right location

Install the Godrej Washing Machine on an even surface.

❑ Place the machine on a level ground, if the floor is uneven, place a board underneath and bring
it to a level position.

An unstable location
❑ Can be dangerous since vibrations may cause the machine to move.
❑ Can create noise as the machine may vibrate.

❑ To check if the machine is on a level ground, use a weight attached to a string. The distance
between the string and the machine should be the same from top to bottom.

❑ Keep a distance of at least 5-cm between the sides and rear of

the machine and the nearest wall.
This will reduce noise while operating the machine.

Do not place the machine in an area with high humidity or direct

exposure to sunlight or rain.

This can
❑ result in damaged insulation or rusting
❑ Cause deformation or discoloration of plastic parts.

This model is provided with castors, which gives you the flexibility
to move the machine to a convenient location. After washing keep
the washing machine at a location free from high humidity and
direct sunlight.

b) Preparation before washing
❑ Lower the drainage hose to the floor. Make sure that the
drainage hose is not kept too high; else it may not drain
properly.
If the drainage hose is kept in level with the ground, the
length of the drainage hose can be extended up to 2 meters.

❑ Connect the water supply pipe to the hose connector.

❑ Plug in the power cord into the power supply socket.

The machine requires a 220 V, 50 Hz AC electrical supply.
Electric supply wall socket to be with 5 amp. Fuse, indicator
lamp
& single pole switch. No extension boards.
Ensure the phase line to be on right side of socket and its
connection through the switch. Ensure proper / strong earthing in
socket at the top terminal. (No leakage)

Caution
• Never connect the earth wire to a gas pipe, a water tap pipe,
a phone wire or lighting rod.
• Don’t use the machine if the power plug or cord is damaged.
This may lead to an electric shock or fire.
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by qualified person in order to avoid a
hazard.

Intermediate Spinning
After the wash cycle, it is suggested that an Intermediate spin cycle with the Spin Shower facility.
This helps remove the detergent solution from clothes and rinsing becomes more effective.

How to Rinse …
After the wash and intermediate spin cycle, use the Rinse cycle. This helps remove detergent from
the clothes and makes them soap-free. Rinsing can be done in two ways:

How to use the Spin Shower …

➢ Remove washed clothes from the Wash Tub and transfer
them uniformly into the Spin Tub.
➢ Fix the Spin Cap by pushing it into the Spin Tub. Ensure
that the Spin Cap is placed horizontally above the clothes
as shown in Fig. Even in case of a small lot of clothes, the
Spin Cap should be placed on the upper part as shown in
Fig. This is a safety requirement. Otherwise this could
lead to vibrations and cause a rattling sound during the spin cycle.
➢ Shift the Water Supply hose to ‘Spin Tub’ and allow the water to flow for about 1 minute.
➢ Turn off the water supply, close the Inner Spin Tub lid and the Spin
Tub lid.

Note: Intermediate spinning will not start till the Spin Tub
lid is shut. For safety reasons, the machine is provided with
a brake mechanism which gets activated as the spin tub lid

Overflow Rinse
In this mode, water is continuously supplied to the Wash Tub during rinsing and the dirty water
flows out through the overflow hose. In this mode very efficient rinsing can be done since the
concentration of detergent in the water is lowered significantly.
➢ Transfer the washed clothes from the Spin Tub into the Wash Tub after intermediate spin cycle.
➢ Shift the "Wash & drain Selector" knob to "Strong /Regular” position.
➢ Connect water supply pipe to ‘Wash Tub’ position.
➢ Adjust the water level.
➢ Start the flow of water and set the Wash Timer between 6 - 8 minutes and rinse under
continuous water flow.
➢ For best results repeat the process twice.
Caution:
• Adjust the water flow while looking at the water level or water may spill out.
• Cover the Wash Tub with the Wash Tub lid while rinsing using "Overflow Rinse" option, as this
will prevent water spilling.

2. Rinsing with fixed amount of water

➢ Transfer the washed clothes from the Spin Tub into the Wash Tub after the Intermediate
spin cycle.
➢ Shift the "Wash & drain Selector" knob to ‘Strong/Regular’ position.
➢ Adjust the water level to ‘High’ and fill water up to the level.
➢ Set the wash timer to 2 -3 minutes.
➢ After the rinsing cycle is over, shift the "Wash & drain Selector" knob to 'Drain' position.
This will drain out the water from the Wash Tub.
➢ Transfer the clothes to the Spin Tub for intermediate spinning.
➢ Repeat this process two to three times for best results.

How to Dry …
➢ Remove washed clothes from the Wash Tub and
transfer clothes uniformly into the Spin Tub as shown in
Fig. The Spin Cap needs to be placed horizontally
above the clothes as shown in Fig. Even in case of a
small lot of clothes, the Spin Cap should be placed
above the clothes. This is a safety requirement. The
clothes and the Spin Cap should be placed as shown in
Fig. Otherwise it could lead to vibrations and cause a
rattling sound during the Dry cycle.
➢ Shut the Inner Spin Tub lid and the Spin Tub lid.
Note: The spinning will not start till the Spin Tub lid is shut. For safety reasons, the
machine is provided with a brake mechanism, which gets activated as the Spin Tub
lid is opened. This safeguard against accidental opening of the Spin Tub lid when the
tub is drying at a
Type of Fabric Spin Time
high speed.
Synthetic Clothes 1 Minute
Woolens 1-2 Minutes
Shirts / Trousers 2-3 Minutes
