ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY FISHERIES AND AGRICULTURAL RESOURCES


MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (BFARMC)

WHEREAS, pursuant to RA 8550, LGU may create the Barangay and Fisheries and Aquatic
Resources Management Council whenever necessary;

WHEREAS, RA 8550 stipulates that the FARMC shall be formed by fisher folk organizations/
cooperatives and NGOs in the locality and be assisted by the LGUs and other government
entities;

WHEREAS, RA 8550 further states that the LGUs, NGOs, fisher folk, and other concerned Pos
shall undergo consultation and orientation on the formation of FARMC.

NOW, THEREFORE, I NADOR M. PINTO, Punong Barangay of Barangay Kasuga,


Magsaysay, Davao del Sur by the virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby
organize the Barangay Fisheries and Agricultural Resources Management Committee
(BFARMC) as follows:

Section 1. Composition. The Barangay Fisheries and Agricultural Resources Management


Committee (BFARMC) is hereby organized to be constituted as follows:

HON. IAN BLAIR E. OMBOY


Chairperson of the Sangguniang Barangay Committee on Agriculture/ Fisheries

CIPRIANO Y. TABAY
Representative from BDC

ANTONIO R. SERENCIO, JR.


Representative from an Accredited non- government organization
RENATO P. CABALQUINTO
Representative from the private sector

Eight (8) representatives of the fisher folk or fisher workers including the youth and the
women sectors;
(1) JOMARI V. LINDAWAN
(2) ROLAND M. CASTRO
(3) MELVIN D. TANDUYAN
(4) MARCELINO S. PANTINOPLE, JR.
(5) ALEXANDER BALURAN
(6) MAGDALINO R. BASTIDA
(7) NORMAN M. BALWIT
(8) DENNIS M. MAÑACAP

Section 2. Functions. The Barangay Fisheries and Agricultural Resources Management


Committee (BFARMC) shall exercise the following functions:

1. Assist in the preparation of the barangay development plan and submit such plan
to the barangay development council;
2. Recommend the enactment of city/ municipal fishery ordinances to the
Sangguniang Barangay or bayan through the committee on fisheries;
3. Assist in the enforcement of fishery laws, rules, and regulations in city/ municipal
waters; and
4. Advise the Sangguniang Barangay on fishery matters through its committee on
fisheries.

Section 3. Funding Support. Funding support for the Barangay Fisheries and
Agricultural Resources Management Committee (BFARMC) shall be charged against the
fund of the Barangay Government subject to availability of funds and to be usual
accounting and auditing rules and regulations.

Let copies hereof be furnished to all concerned for information, reference, and guidance.

Done in Barangay Kasuga, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur, Philippines this 4th day of
