“Snow White and the seven Dwarfs” (screenplay)

There is a scenery of a forest and a castle behind the scene.

Story-teller: Once upon a time, in a faraway Kingdom there lived a pretty girl.
Her name was Snow White.
Her mother died when Snow White was small.
The King, her father, married again, and his new wife Queen Bella hated the girl
a lot. Queen Bella thought that she was the most beautiful woman in the
Kingdom and always asked her magical mirror about it.

Scene 1 (King’s Palace)

(Stepmother appears on the stage. She looks into the mirror)

Stepmother: Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the pretties of all?

Mirror: Of course you are. You, Queen Bella are the most beautiful in the
world.

Stepmother: (looking into the mirror again)

It’s true. I am the prettiest in the world. No one’s beauty can be compared with
mine.

(Stepmother leaves the room)

Sounds of music

Storyteller: Ten years passed and Snow White grew up to be a beautiful young
Princess. She was very kind and polite. All people in the Kingdom loved Snow
White.

(Snow White appears on the scene. She puts some flowers on the table, then
she starts to dust the furniture.

Snow White: Oh, I am so unhappy. My stepmother hates me. My father has

gone to the war and forgotten about mе. Perhaps some day the Prince will come
and take me away from the Palace!

(She sits on the chair in the corner and embroiders. Stepmother comes in. She
doesn’t notice Snow White. )

Stepmother: Oh, how happy I am! I have married the King and I am the Queen
now. How beautiful I am!
(Looks into the mirror)

- Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the pretties of all?

Mirror (a sound behind the scene): You dear Queen, are beautiful, it’s true,
but … Snow White is more beautiful than you!

Stepmother (angrily): Shut up, stupid dirty glass or I’ll break you into pieces!
Oh, Snow White, how I hate you!

(Snow White jumps up frightened and drops the embroidery.)

Stepmother : Oh, you are here, (whispered ….stupid girl! Ha-ha-ha)

Well, Snow White, go to the kitchen and make some tea for me! Don’t forget to
put some jam in !!!
And… And tell the Woodcutter to come to the Palace. I want to see him.

(Snow White goes away)

(Sounds of music and the Woodcutter comes in.)

Woodcutter: You wanted to see me your Magesty.

Stepmother: Yes. I have a task for you. You must go to the forest with Snow
White… and …and you must kill her!

Woodcutter: Kill Snow White? I can’t do that!

Queen Bella: But you must!!! It’s my order! Go and kill her! Do it now!

(Woodcutter goes away very upset)

(Snow white appears with a teapot and cups in her hands)

Stepmother: Ah! Snow White. Tomorrow you can go for a walk in the forest
with the woodcutter. You can pick some flowers for your room.

Snow White: Thank you. Thank you so much Queen Bella! I love walking in
the forest! I can pick some flowers for you, too. Do you like camomiles?

Queen Bella: Yes …. (whispered camomiles … ha-ha-ha)

Storyteller : Next day Snow White and the woodcutter walked a long way to
the forest. Snow White was happy she picked a bunch of beautiful flowers.
Scene 2 ( A green lawn in the forest)
Snow White: Look, I’ve gathered lots of nice flowers. And these camomiles
are for my stepmother. Aren’t they beautiful?
I’ve had a good walk and now I’m tired. Woodcutter, can we go home now?

Woodcutter: I’m sorry, Snow White. You can’t go back to the Palace. Queen
Bella told me to kill you! But I don’t want to kill you… Of course I can’t kill
you!
You are so kind and good I can tell her you’re dead, but you can never go
back to the Palace again. She hates you!’
So, good-bye, dear Snow White. Be safe and remember never go back to the
Palace.

Snow White: Good bye, Woodcutter and thank you very much.

Storyteller: The woodcutter left Snow White in the dark thick forest and went
back to the Palace alone.

Snow White: (Snow white looks very upset ) What will I do? Where will I
go?
Oh, my Prince… Where are you? Come and help me.

Scene 3 (King’s Palace)

(Queen Bella is standing in front of the mirror, looking arrogant and angry.
Woodcutter enters Queen Bella’s room).

Stepmother: Oh, it’s you! Did you kill Snow White, Woodcutter?

Woodcutter: Yes, your Magesty. Snow White is dead.

Stepmother: Great job! Now go away.

…. So, Snow white is dead. Now I’m the most beautiful woman in
the world again! (Queen Bella comes again to the mirror and looks into it).

Scene 4 (Green lawn in the forest)

Storyteller: Meanwhile Snow White was alone and sad, in the dark sick
forest. But soon she made friends with birds and animals. They played and
had fun together. After…. Late at night when Snow White was tired she
found a cosy spot under the bush and fell asleep.
Early in the morning the birds woke her up .

(singing of the birds)

Snow White: How well I slept… Now I can go and look for place to live.

(Snow White wonders in the forest looking for a place to live and sees a
small cottage)

Oh, what a nice little cottage! It looks like a toy house. Who lives there?
(knocks the door)
Is anybody here? …..
May I come in? …. ….(she comes in) How tiny these plates are….
How tiny the cups and spoons, and the table and the chairs…
Oh, dust is everywhere here! The plates are dirty. I must clean everything here.

(sweet music sounds. Snow White wipes dishes on the table and sweeps the
floor).

Snow White: I’m so tired! I’ll just lie down on this little bed (lies down on the bed
and falls asleep).

(Music “Heigh-ho” sounds. Seven dwarfs come in dancing)

The 1-st Dwarf: (cautiously): Hush! There’s somebody in here!

The 2-nd Dwarf: (frightened): It’s a burglar! (robber)

The 3-rd Dwarf: (comes up to the table and looks at the cups): But nothing is
missing!

The 4-th Dwarf: Maybe it’s a monster?

(all the dwarfs gasp from fear)

The 5-th Dwarf: I’m scared!

The 6-th Dwarf: But we must know who is there!

The 7-th Dwarf: Look! Look! It’s a girl! She is sleeping.

(The Dwarfs surround the sleeping Snow White and looking at her)

The 1-st Dwarf: How beautiful she is!

The 2-nd Dwarf: Her face is as white as snow.

The 3-rd Dwarf: Wakе up, wake up, please! ( shakes her shoulder)

Snow White: (wakes up, stretches and sees the Dwarfs)

Astonished: Oh, my God! You are dwarfs! You are so small and nice!

Dwarfs all together: And who are you?

Snow White: I’m Snow White. My angry stepmother Queen Bella wants to kill
me. May I stay here? I can keep the house for you. I can do many things. I can
cook tasty food, bake bread and clean the house.

( Dwarfs clap their hands happily): Tasty food! Clean house! Yes!!!

The 4-th Dwarf: You are a very good girl! You can stay with us!

Snow White: Thank you, dear friends! I suppose you are hungry. Would you like
me to cook meat soup, fish and potatoes, tea and cookies for you?

Dwarfs all together: Oh, meat soup, fish and potatoes, tea and cookies!

Snow White: Your dinner will be ready soon.

The 5-th Dwarf: Thank you, Snow White! Now we must go to our mine.

The 6-th Dwarf: Be careful! Don’t let anyone in.

The 4-th Dwarf: Don’t open the door to anybody.

Snow White: I promise, I won’t let anyone in, my good friends. Good-bye and
good luck!

Dwarfs all together: Good-bye snow white!

Scene 5 (King’s Palace)

(An angry Stepmother comes in, sits at the table, drinks tea and looks in the
mirror.)

Stepmother: How happy I am! Snow White has died in the forest. (looking in the
mirror): How beautiful I am!

- Mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the prettiest of all?

Mirror (a voice behind the scene): You dear Queen, are beautiful, it’s true. But
with the seven dwarfs still alive, Snow White is the prettiest of all.

Stepmother (looking into the mirror angrily): Shut up, shut up, dirty glass! I know
what to do. I’ll turn to be an old lady and I’ll poison her myself. Where is my
magical red apple? Oh, here it is! How juicy and delicious it looks. I’ll go to the
forest. I must hurry now!
(stands up, puts un her cloak, takes an apple and leaves).

Scene 6 (A cottage in the wood. Snow White embroiders on the chair.)

Snow White: Oh, how happy I am! Dinner is ready! My dear dwarfs will come
soon.
(someone knocks the door)

Oh, who is there? Come in, come in, please!

(Queen Bella enters the room she looks like an old woman).

Snow White; Oh, who are you?

Old woman: I’m an old woman. I am tired, I want to drink. Give me some water,
please!

Snow White: (pours water in the cup and gives to stepmother): Here you are!

Old woman: Thank you, good girl! You are so kind! Have an apple. It is so tasty.
Try it!

Snow White: Thanks a lot! (she bites an apple) Ah! (falls on the bed)

Old lady: (takes the hood off her head happily): Ha-ha-ha! Finally!!! She is
dead! (goes away)

(Music “Heigh-ho”. The dwarfs come back home.)

The 1-st Dwarf: Oh, our dear Snow White is dead!

(the Dwarfs surround Snow White)

The 2-nd Dwarf: No!, No!. She is too beautiful to be buried in the cold land.

The 3-rd Dwarf: What shall we do? Poor Snow White!!!

(the Dwarfs sit around Snow White sadly)

Story-teller: Suddenly a prince was riding nearby. He heard the dwarfs crying
and came to the cottage.

(Music sounds and a prince rides his “horse” to the cottage.)

Prince: Hello, my good men! Why are you crying?

The 4-th Dwarf: Our dear Snow White is dead (cries).

The 5-th Dwarf: I know how to make her alive. You the Prince must give her a
rose to wake her up!

Prince: Oh, How beautiful she is. I’m ready to do it! (stands on his knee and
gives the Snow White’s a red rose . Wake up, wake up, the beautiful girl. Wake
up, please!
Snow White (wakes up and stretches): Oh, where I am?

Prince: Don’t worry my beautiful young lady. You are safe with me. You are so
pretty.

¸
Dwarfs all together: Hurrah! Hurrah! Hurrah!

The 7-th Dwarf: Snow White is not dead. She is alive!!!

Dwarfs all together: How happy we are!

Snow White and Prince (together) And we are happy too. We love each other.

(all the actors and the story-teller appear on the stage)

Story-teller: Very soon Snow White and her Prince got married and lived
happily for a long, long time.
