whale's back. But Moby-Dic:h is swirnming away fast. The
harpoon rope goes around Ahab's body, and it pulls him
into the ocean. For some minutcs, the white whale pulls
the captain behind him. At first, Ahab has his head up

of the water. But then the whale goes far down under the
sea. So Ahab goes down with him, and he dies. He
never
has his revenge on Moby-Dick!
The Pequod goes down, too - with all her crew. And
she tahes the three whaling-boats with her. At the last
minute, Ishmael jumps into the ocean. He
swims away fast. All the sailors from the
Pequod die, but Ishmael lives. He is
happy about that, but where
can he go now?
