B. School Profile
2.1. Introducing the School
North Dalurong Elementary School belonged to a small school category situated in the
heart of Barangay East Dalurong, Kitaotao, Bukidnon. It owned a total land area of 40,000.00
square meter (4 hectares) within the ancestral domain administered by the rulers of Matigsalug
group in Mindanao under the FEMMATRICS organization. The school is also located in
Kitaotao – III district which passable and accessible to all types of vehicles from the national
highway.
It offers a complete basic education under the K to 12 Basic Education curriculum
specifically from kinder to Grade 6 level. Learners from Grade one (1) to Grade six (6) will be
learning academic learning competencies in English, Filipino, Mathematics, Araling
Panlipunan (AP), Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao (EsP), Music Art and Physical Education
(MAPEH) and Edukasyon sa Pantahanan at Pangkabuhayan (EPP). However, kindergarten
learners will be teaching and focusing on literacy, numeracy and socio – emotional
competencies.

the learners for example; group handwashing, gender – segregated comfort rooms and feeding
center. It has two (2) different buildings with five (5) classrooms for instruction. Thus, one (1)
makeshift classroom was used for instruction particularly Grade two (2) classes. The conditioned
of the classrooms for instruction as reported in the National School Building Inventory (NSBI)
facility is for condemnation and needs major repair.
Most of the learners in school belonged to marginalize families of whom eighty – five
percent (85%) are members of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and Indigenous
Peoples (IPs) program from the Philippine government. Parents take control the financial subsidy
of these programs and supply the needs of their children to whatever educational needs they have
as required by the school. They are also taking part and share their obligation in school by
attending the regular monthly Pahinas and meetings. It is also evident that Parent Teacher’s
Association in school is active and play important role in the realization of school activities,
programs and intended projects in a particular school year. More so, the School Government
Council (SGC) also commands a responsibility to create policies for the school under the
supervision of the school head.
The ideal partnership among the school and the Barangay East Dalurong Council is seen
and it has been observed that barangay officials are constantly support the school in terms of
financial and material resources. In the actual sense, the school received every year a one (1)
percent budget allocation from the barangay fund to support the school’s needs and projects.
When there is a program to be held, barangay officials are invited and share significant messages
and encouragement to their constituent to support the school progress and successes and problem
arise, officials will set in to discuss the matter in how to solve such problem.
The school remained faithful to implement worthwhile programs in the Department of
Education (DepEd) in order to improve its key indicators such as but not limited to; Completion
Rate, Retention Rate, Transition Rate, Cohort Survival Rate, Gross and NET Enrolment Rate
among others. Some of these programs are; Bawat Batang Bukidnon Bumabasa (4Bs) which
intends to improve the reading level of learners, Good Education in Beautiful School/Classrooms
(GEBS/C) to sustain the school and classroom that is conducive for teaching and learning.
Currently, the school is led and managed by the Elementary School Head Teacher – II in
the person of Mr. Jelmar D. Mericuelo with six (6) competent teachers. Among the teachers
assigned in North Dalurong Elementary School, one of them is Master Teacher (1) position and
the rest are Teacher – I position. The school head and his team believed that, through this School
Improvement Plan (SIP) for the year 2023 – 2028 is a well – organized plan for better education
of all leaners.
