VI.Remarks
The lesson was carried out successfully as the Grade 6 pupils learn the intended outcomes about the
Importance and benefits of planting and propagating trees and fruit bearing trees as they we’re also
able to complete the task assigned to them.
From this experience I learned that I need to create a more open teaching style. I must also remember
to spend less time on explanations and get right into the practice activities. They were more effective if
they are engage in collaborative learning. I also realized more than ever the importance of being flexible.
Overall, I would say that revision may be necessary in the best of lesson plan.
VII.Reflection
As I reflect, once I got into the lesson, I felt more comfortable. When we began the exercises and the
students started participating, things got better. I would say that my students are actively engaged in
the class because they were thinking critically and actively participating in the discussion as I called on
students by name and they are very responsive in the class.
As a teacher, it also shown articulate connections activity, the lessons and how it relates to life, work
and community. The respect and rapport in the classroom between myself and the students had for
each other made students feel safe to share their ideas and feelings relating to our lesson topic which
contributed to student learning in this lesson. If I had the opportunity to teach this lesson again, I would
have followed my lesson plan and given students the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills
after the discussion on how to plant trees and fruit bearing trees.
