Brazil officially the Federative Republic of Brazil is the largest country in both South America and Latin America.
Brazil is the world's fifth-largest country by area and the sixth most populous. Its capital is Brasília, and its most
populous city is São Paulo. The federation is composed of the union of the 26 states and the Federal District.

Geography

Brazil occupies a large area along the eastern coast of South America and includes much of the continent's
interior, sharing land borders with Uruguay to the south; Argentina and Paraguay to the southwest; Bolivia and
Peru to the west; Colombia to the northwest; and Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname and (French Guiana) to the
north. It shares a border with every South American country except Ecuador and Chile.

Brazil is the fifth largest country in the world, and third largest in the Americas.

Climate

The climate of Brazil comprises a wide range of weather conditions across a large area and varied topography, but
most of the country is tropical. According to the Köppen system, Brazil hosts six major climatic subtypes: desert,
equatorial, tropical, semiarid, oceanic and subtropical.

Culture

The core culture of Brazil is derived from Portuguese culture. The culture was, however, also strongly influenced
by African, indigenous and non-Portuguese European cultures and traditions.

Some aspects of Brazilian culture were influenced by the contributions of Italian, German and other European as
well as Japanese, Jewish and Arab immigrants who arrived in large numbers in the South and Southeast of Brazil
during the 19th and 20th centuries.

Music

The music of Brazil was formed mainly from the fusion of European and African elements.

The first was José Maurício Nunes Garcia, author of sacred pieces with influence of Viennese classicism.

Popular music since the late eighteenth century began to show signs of forming a characteristically Brazilian
sound, with samba considered the most typical and on the UNESCO cultural heritage list.

The Feijoada is considered the country's national dish.

The national beverage is coffee and cachaça. And the té national cocktail is Caipirinha.
A typical meal consists mostly of rice and beans with beef, salad, french fries and a fried egg.

Brazil has a variety of desserts such as brigadeiros, bolo de rolo, cocada, beijinhos and romeu e julieta.

Sports

The most popular sport in Brazil is football. The Brazilian men's national team. It has won the World Cup
tournament a record five times.

Volleyball, basketball, auto racing, and martial arts are popular as well.
