RESEARCH ON ESTABLISHING NORMS AND RULES


Teachers who establish and maintain norms for an effective learning environment spend moretime
teaching because less time is usurped by discipline (Brophy, 2000).

Motivation Begin by asking students if they have ever expressed their opinion about a movie,
book, or artwork. Explain that today's lesson will focus on a formal way of expressing
opinions through a critique paper.

RESEARCH ON ASKING QUESTIONS AND GIVING IMMEDIATE FEEDBACK TO LEARNERS


“Individuals acquire a skill much more rapidly if they receive feedback about the correctness of what they
have done. If incorrect, they need to know the nature of their mistake. It was demonstrated long ago that
practice without feedback produces little learning (Thorndike, 1927).Good feedback practice can not only
provide useful information to the students in improving their learning,but also can offer decent information
to teachers which is eventually improve the learning experience forthe students. Yorke (2003)
