Matthew 11:28 - 30

28.Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for
I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Order of Worship

English Mandarin Translation

Call to Worship Good morning to everyone!

We know this is our third Chapel Service in this semester.
There are six more such services. Amidst the busy schedule
of classwork and assignments, have you ever thought Of
God's ultimate will for us? What could it be?

Getting high marks in Exams and graduating from college?

Or choosing a good mission field? Or
Is it about having a safe family?

But strangely these are all not God's ultimate wills about us.
Eternal life, victory over sin, obedience to God's
commandments, receiving the power of the Holy Spirit, and
becoming a disciple of the Lord are the wills of God. For this
to be possible, we must grow up in all aspects into Christ who
is the head. By coming to the chapel service and class
times,there are opportunities to read, hear and understand
the Word of God.
Remembering these Let's listen to this song for getting this
opportunity given by God.

To a cradle in the dirt

And the morning that You rose
All of heaven held its breath
Till that stone was moved for good
For the Lamb had conquered death
And the dead rose from their tombs - Need a progression
And the angels stood in awe
For the souls of all who’d come
To the Father are restored

VERSE 4
And the Church of Christ was born
Then the Spirit lit the flame
Now this gospel truth of old
Shall not kneel shall not faint
By His blood and in His Name
In His freedom I am free
For the love of Jesus Christ
Who has resurrected me

Prayer Prayer - Dear God, as human beings, we cannot live as fully as you
expect us to in this world. But we praise and give thanks for your
grace and truth, Jesus Christ. Amen

God carries our burdens.

When we are in the world, the pleasures of the world are things that
keep us away from God. But the Lord is there to help us to
overcome them. Each morning, let's praise God for the power He
sends.
It's true as the sunrise.

What a friend we What a friend we have in Jesus,

have in Jesus, Text: Joseph M. Scriven
Music: Charles C. Converse

Intro: Rhythmic Style

All Join
1 What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!

Interlude
2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer!

Pianist Interlude, scale change with slow tempo

3 Are we weak and heavy laden,

cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge--
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he'll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.
In his arms he'll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.

Sermon

Song of Softly and Tenderly

Response: Text and Music: Will L. Thompson

1 Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,

calling for you and for me;
see, on the portals he's waiting and watching,
watching for you and for me.

Come home, come home;

you who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

2 Why should we tarry when Jesus is pleading,

pleading for you and for me?
Why should we linger and heed not his mercies,
mercies for you and for me?

Come home, come home;

All Join you who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

3 Time is now fleeting, the moments are passing,

passing from you and from me;
shadows are gathering, deathbeds are coming,
coming for you and for me.

Come home, come home;

you who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!

Intro to offering: Before we sing the last verse, let us now

give our offerings to the Lord.
Offering (Pianist continues to play a verse, QR code flashed on

Let us stand and sing the Last Stanza

4 O for the wonderful love he has promised,

promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
pardon for you and for me.

Come home, come home;

you who are weary come home;
earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling,
calling, O sinner, come home!
