Letter of Motivation

In life one has to make many decisions which help him shape his destiny. So,
with me the same thing happened where after completing my bachelors I had to
take an important decision in my life which would be vital for my future. The
important decision was to purse my master in Germany after completing my
bachelors in Instrumentation and Control engineering from Dharmsinh Desai
University with a CGPA of 8.83. I have also given IELTS (7.5 bands) to proof
my grasp in English Language. Pursuing my master’s study with Automation
and Robotics at one of the most reputed and top ranked university TU
Dortmund was also one of the most important decisions I took, which is vital
component toward realizing my career ambition. When I got the letter of
admission from the university my joys had no bound and was a stepping stone
towards a bright future of mine.
From the start of my life, I was very much interested in how the things work
around us. That lead me to the path of science and eventually to engineering.
So, whenever I hear word research, I basically think about mainly 2 countries,
which are Germany and USA because from the back of the iPhone to
marvellous cars. Its eighter designed in USA or designed in Germany. For me
personally Germany is way better than USA in many aspects which tipped the
scale towards studying in Germany. Germany has the best education system in
the world, and it is so well structured that it provides flexibility, the opportunity
to obtain practical experience while learning, and a multicultural environment.
High-quality education in Germany helps students have a successful future and
enhances one's profession in the long run, which is what draws the most foreign
students to Germany. Germany provides students with a new platform to expand
their perspectives on their own aspirations and passions. Aside from that, it is
far safer than any other country. I plan to stay in Germany for two years to
complete my master's degree.
I was looking for a university that provide world class education and has a
reputation that can even outshine even the very best university. It was crystal
clear for me that I wanted university which was more inclined toward research-
based approach and also gave a practical approach which are quite essential for
todays Industry standard. I also wanted university near city that had strong
influence on German history and culture as I wanted to know more about the
German culture too. So, the university that ticked all the boxes for me was TU
Dortmund.
The reason I choose automation and robotics program from my master is
because I have great deal of interest in this field. The interest developed when I
was doing my final year project at the automation firm where we were tasked to
develop a miniature version of a colour mixing and bottle filing plant using PLC
incorporating Industry 4.0. There I learnt the challenges the field has and it
intrigued my problem-solving mind. It is then I realised that it is among the core
part of any modern industry. The automation and robotics program of TU
Dortmund focuses on the main three aspects of the field that are cognitive
systems, process system and robotics and I have great interest in all. And with
the foundational knowledge of these 3 key areas, it will help me to do
competitive research in field of automation and robotics. And provide
something useful to the world.
My father whom I greatly admire and is my role model has always supported
me in my purse of my dreams. He is a successful employee at India’s second
largest petrochemical refinery Nayara energy. Irrespective if is either sports or
academics he always said to me to do my best in every field. He is going to
sponsor my stay in Germany. I have already transferred 11322 Euro in my
blocked account and finance for 2nd year is also been shown in my documents
provided.
I am incredibly happy to have been accepted to TU Dortmund’s Automation and
Robotics program, and I also believe I am on the correct track to pursuing my
interests and objectives. Since I was a teenager, I've had a special interest in
research and development, and now this course is where I can benefit from my
diligence, punctuality, and commitment to my studies.
