Enhancing Patient Rehabilitation with Artificial Intelligence


In Physiotherapy – Growth Drivers of AI in Geriatric Care.

ABSTRACT:-

Introduction
- The Covid pandemic has bought humans closer to computers and machines.
It has become an integral part of life . The new generation computers are now manufactured
with ‘machines learning’ that is the capacity to learn and think . This is called as Artificial
Intelligence.. AI has become an integral part of Physiotherapy assessment and treatment. In
this context, AI in Geriatrics Physiotherapy could be futuristic move in delivering better
medical and healing care services.

Method :-
Observational study was carried out for treatment effectiveness using AI. AI potential to
personalise PT treatment plans is transformative.. On of the significant barriers of exercise
especially when the patient is away from watchful eyes of therapist. The AI powered apps
and devices hold immense potential to bridge the gap.
The application can provide real time exercise execution ensuring patient perform exercises
correctly, minimising risk of injury and maximising benefits .
They can also act as virtual cheerleaders providing necessary motivation for patients to stick
to there plans and reach goals .

Result :- Machine learning has shown that computers are able to automate diagnosis of gait
abnormalities and underlying pathology.In Parkinson’s disease and OA ,patients with
increased fall risk can be identified early based on AI.

Conclusion :-
We conclude from the result that using artificial intelligence in Physiotherapy enhances
rehabilitation and developing aplomb in them .
