Character descri ption


Writers use descriptive language to help readers imagine the characters in
their narratives (stories). They tell readers what the characters look Iike, and
what the characters think and feel. They also tell readers how the characters
behave in a situation or event, so that readers have a good idea of the
characters' personalities. Writers choose words that show readers what they
think about the characters.
