Measure for Cobra4

Dear Phywe customer,


We congratulate you on your selection of our software measure for Cobra4. The combination of the
Cobra4 interface system with software measure opens up a magnitude of possibilities for data re-
cording and analysis.

Installation of the software


Insert the DVD into the DVD drive. As a rule, installation starts automatically. Select the menu prompt
“Install or update measure“ , to install measure for Cobra4. At the end of the installation process
the Activation Assistant is opened. Choose “activate” and enter the enabling code that is printed on the
inside of the DVD jacket. With this, the Cobra4 functionality of the software measure is enabled. The
Activation Assistant is always available in measure in menu “Options” to enable further devices, if nec-
essary.
Should a version of measure be already installed on your computer, this will be automatically recog-
nized and an update of the available components will be carried out.
When the latest version of measure is running on your computer, all previous versions can be
unistalled.

Putting the system into operation


Details on the handling of Cobra4 instruments (USB-Link and Wireless-Link) are to be found in the op-
erating instructions supplied with them.
To open measure for Cobra4, start the software measure after you have installed the full version
and entered the enabling code for Cobra4 as described above.
There are two ways to open measure for Cobra4: (1) In measure either via the menu button resp.
via the selection of “Cobra4“ in menu „Gauge“, or (2) automatically by connecting one or several Co-
bra4 instruments. Connect your Cobra4 USB-Link or Wireless-Link with a Sensor-Unit plugged in as
described in the operating instructions. When the drivers are installed, the display of the Cobra4 USB-
Link resp. Wireless-Link lights up and the programme Navigator shows the correspoding Cobra4 in-
strument with connected Sensor-Unit.
You can now measure! As suggestions we have included descriptions of experiments in the programme
as pdf documents that can be called up with the button or in the menu “Experiment o Open ex-
periment“ (for this, Adobe Reader 8, also included on the installation DVD, must be installed). The nec-
essary settings for carrying out measurements and the measurement examples are loaded automati-
cally as well.
A complete set of all presently available experimental protocolls is included in the manual “Computer-
assisted experiments with Cobra4“. This manual can be ordered from PHYWE using item no. 01330.02.
How to carry out a measurement is described in detail in the appropriate experimental protocol together
with context-related help topics that provide further information on the programme functions.
You can also call up help texts on various themes, such as “First steps with Cobra4“ via button or
the “Help“ menu.
