Scope of the Project
The Indian IT & ITeS sector is pivotal for the Indian economy, a recent report of NASSCOM report
stated that the IT/ITES industry was growing at a rate of 25% annually and provided more than 2
million jobs across the country.
Issues Addressed
 The need for Vocational Training for the Marginalized Youth
The vocational training in IT/ ITES plays an imperative role in making marginalized youth
employable. Today, the IT workforce constitutes about 65% of people from no technology
background.
 Addressing the Skill Gap
The skills gap in the IT and ITeS industry remains an area of concern. The percentage of
employable candidates has not gone beyond the 25 per cent mark despite the efforts and
initiatives taken by companies and various industry bodies to prepare the workforce to be
industry.
 Saturation of Tier 1 cities
The Indian IT & ITeS sector primarily operates through six major states, including Karnataka,
Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, Also, a majority of
these centers are based in tier 1 cities of these states, such as Bengaluru, Chennai,
Hyderabad, Gurgaon and Noida As infrastructure facilities in tier 1 cities saturate and input
costs increase, IT & ITeS companies are shifting their focus towards tier 2 and 3 cities.

Aim of Project

Decent working conditions & Economic growth being another major aspect, however, the other goals
are aligned indirectly as well, by enabling beneficiaries with a skill set in the field of IT- ITES and
