A Brief History Of Costa Rica
Countries in Central America have long been associated with poor economies. These
countries have been plagued by crime, corruption and war for decades if not centuries.
Today most Central American countries are still in a state of turmoil with the exception
of Costa Rica. In this paper I will outline a brief history of the country and describe its
geological features. I will then delve into its natural resources, imports and exports.
Education is the next topic I will cover along with Costa Rica s trade relationships with
other countries. Finally I will discuss taxation, direct foreign investment, and the Costa
Rican central bank. When first researching this country I expected it to have a pathetic
economy. I have since been convinced that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1946 Costa Rica changed its constitution after civil war resulting in universal
suffrage and the dissipation of armed forces. Today Costa Rica operates under a
democratic government. Its economy is still weak but it has been strengthening over
the past decade. Due to it past occupation from Spain most of its current citizens have a
Spanish ethnicity. Costa Rica is a Central American country that borders Nicaragua
and Panama. It has two coastlines, the Caribbean ocean on the east coast and the
Pacific Ocean on the west coast. Costa Rica is a part of the ring of fire which borders
the entire pacific ocean. This causes it to have plenty of volcanic activity which
developed a mountainous spine down the center of the country. Costa Rica is only ten
degrees north of the equator causing it to have a hot, tropical climate. This climate
allows the growth of rain forests which makes Costa Rica a biodiversity hot spot.
Approximately 4.5% of the world s species reside in Costa Rica which is a huge
percentage for such a small country. Deforestation is one of the main concerns for Costa
Rica s geography. Ranchers need land for their animals putting this biodiversity at risk.
Costa Rica does not have typical natural resource reserves which makes its most valuable
natural resource the beauty of the country. Its breath taking mountain ranges, beautiful
beaches, and rain forests bring in plentiful tourism. Land and rainfall make agriculture the

Mentality In Song Of Solomon
Mental confinement is a worse condemnation than immobility. The shackles that render
your thought useless deteriorates you more than physical chains can. However in the
race of life as we continue to grow we must take into consideration our responsibilities
and also the people around us that we can affect. While we do anything to support them,
this internal conflict creates a crevice with how much help we can lend. As a result they
become an external pressure that hinder growth for us. The vacillation with what we
deem appropriate to handle this is often perceived through varying lens. Remaining in the
same mentality is detrimental, but now leavings begs the question if it is just a means of
escape to prolong the issue. In Toni Morrisons Song of Solomon, the protagonist
Milkman portrays the ideal example through his oscillation between life s choices as he
comes upon the endeavor to find himself. Entrapping himself with a small mindedness
towards the world, Morrison opens him with his coming of age through her symbolic
use of flight. Milkman s final flight comes off the page in the ever present conflict to not
only grow amongst the stereotypes but to also avoid resorting to the easy way out.
As we dive into the book, Morrison offers the symbolic flight of Robert Smith as an
introduction to both the novel and Milkman s birth. Robert s dive from the roof
juxtaposes Milkman s emergence to the world. With his transcendence into the afterlife
instead of soaring he sets up the
The Rapid Growth Of Population Essay
Introduction:
The reason I chose this topic is because in my country Ethiopia the rapid growth of
population alarmed me, just around the 1965 our population was very low however in
the past few years it has tripled form 20 million to over 100 million. This was when my
interest in my countries population developed. Population is one of the conversational
topics when talking about a countries profile, in view of the fact that it plays a huge
role, in a countries work force, consumption and economy. I will be collecting data and
modelling them to predict the population for the next 5 to 10 years. I will also be doing
this for Kenya to see the relationship between the two countries to prove that this rapid
growth of population is happening not only in our country but in our neighboring
countries too.
The data collected is imprecise because it is affected by many variables. The mortality
rate of the people in Ethiopia can affect my data highly. During this time Ethiopia had
a high rate of migration, this could also be included as one of the variables that have
affected my data. I will be using this set of data to draw a graph so that I can generate a
model to represent this data so that I can use it to predict the population after five years.

Comparing Bugs Dimed And Rabbit Plays Tug-Of-War
The episode of Bugs Bunny watched for this assignment featured Bugs Bunny and
Yosemite Sam. The video starts out with Yosemite Sam pointing a gun at Bugs Bunny.
Bugs, immediately challenges him by turning his gun and saying You can t talk to me
like that, those are fighting words! Bugs then provokes Sam by drawing lines in the
sand and daring Sam to step over the lines, which he does, and inevitably leads to him
to falling off a cliff. A chase ensues, with bugs in the lead, using several forms of
trickery to stay one step ahead of his opponent. Eventually, Bugs convinces Sam that
the best way to handle the dispute is with a game of gin rummy, with the loser having
to leave town. Of course Bugs wins the game but after packing all of Sam s belongings
and pushing Sam on the train, he realizes that the train is full of beautiful woman and
decides he will be the one leaving town. There are several different influences that can
be noted when comparing Bugs Bunny to Native American lore. First, in the stories The
Trickster Tricked and Rabbit Plays Tug of War it shows the repeated use of the rabbits as
one of the leading characters. In both stories and Bugs Bunny, the rabbit is portrayed as
arrogant, mischievous; yet humorous,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One example of this is found in the story Crow Brings the Daylight. When the crow
comes back to the town carrying the ball of light, this a representation of a sunrise. The
story also provided them with a reason for why there was 6 months of darkness. These
stories were able to provide children with easy to understand explanations of things their
elders could not explain. Bug Bunny serves the same purpose but in a modern sense. It
allows parents to teach their children lessons in the world which can be difficult to
explain, through the form of an entertaining, cartoon
