TWR will provide 2 MIN mean winds at Rosário and
touch-down simultaneously with LDG clearance or missed
APCH/go around instructions when LDG clearance cannot
be issued due to winds exceeding AD published LDG
limits.
Further wind info after LDG clearance will be provided at
1. MAX of 2 MIN mean Wind Speed Values
Pilot's request or upon occurrence of variations from the

last 2 MIN mean wind direction of 60° or more, or mean
wind speed 3 KT or more. - sector 300°-010° MAG (clockwise) - 15 KT,

Gust of 30 KT, and if RWY in use is 23 - 15
KT, subject also to MAX Wind Gust of 25 KT
as indicated by MID anemometer.
2. MAX of 2 MIN mean Wind Speed Values,
including Gust indicated by MID or ROSÁRIO
anemometers:
- sector 200º-230º MAG (clockwise) - 25 KT.
b. When taking off:
Landing Procedures
- APCH RWY 05 must be made in a MNM VIS of 5000m;
- APCH RWY 23 must be made in a MNM VIS of 7000m.
190 KT IAS recommended for LDG RWY 05.
Departure Procedures
Pilots are advised to select full power on TKOF in
presence of turbulence or downdraft reports.
TKOFs on both RWYs must be made in MNM VIS of
2800m.
There are curved trajectories defined for both RWYs and
for all engines operating.
TKOF RWY 05
After TKOF start right turn as soon as practicable to avoid
high ground on the left side.
TKOF RWY 23
After TKOF start left turn as soon as practicable to avoid
high ground on the right side.
With westerly winds, tail-windshears may be expected.
Anemometer readings reported by TWR at the end of
RWY and at 'ROSARIO' may indicate this possibility.
Radio Communication
Departing traffic shall contact Madeira TWR/APP
according to ATIS information until 10 MIN before ETD for
AD information, modification or confirmation of ETD.
