Hadiths 1 To 20
Hadiths 1 To 20
HADITH #1
‘Religion is sincerity.’ We said: ‘To whom?’ The Prophet said: ‘To Allah, his Book, his
Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims and to their common people.
BELIEFS:
This hadith tells us that the religion of Islam is totally based upon honest beliefs and actions.
Hypocrisy has no place in the religion. Muslims believe that to become a true Muslim, they
have to put their faith on oneness of Allah.
Sincerity to Allah means to believe that it is only He who is capable of being worshipped
because of His supreme and unique attributes.
Sincerity to the Book implies that the Holy Quran is a Divine book that contains perfect
guidance for all occasions in human life.
Sincerity to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) means that Allah sent a man of excellent character to
serve as a guide for the human beings.
Sincerity to the common people means that all the people are a creation of Allah and deserve
respect, honor and safety.
Muslims also believe that cooperation to the righteous leadership is an important aspect of
the religion. In short, religion is about fulfillment of the rights of Allah and the rights of the
fellow beings.
ACTIONS:
According to this hadith, Muslims must worship Allah alone and should never associate other
gods or allies with Allah.
They should turn to Him for help with full confidence in the face of difficulties. Muslims
must read Quran daily and understand its content for proper implementation.
They should not only follow Quran but also teach it to other Muslims. A true Muslim must pay
huge regard to all the prophets of Allah by reciting durood on them as much as possible.
The prophets of Allah (PBUH) should also be followed in all aspects of life. We must take
care of our fellow Muslims and should not be a source of physical or emotional harm for
anyone.
It is the responsibility of the Muslims to support their leaders when they are trying to
implement the laws made in the light of Quran and Sunnah.
We must not fear criticizing and correcting them if we find them deviating from the right
path.
HADITH #2
None of you believes until he wants for his brother what he wants for himself.
BELIEFS:
Islam is a religion of peace that promotes the idea of brotherhood and fraternity among the
Muslims.
The believers are declared to be brothers to each other and true Muslim is one who treats
his fellow Muslims like brothers.
The religion of Islam is not only about the declaration of the concept of Oneness of Allah and
finality of the prophethood of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH), it is also about treating other
Muslims with care and affection. It is about being a source of comfort for others.
The perfection of Islamic faith is achieved when a believer lives a selfless life to benefit the
other believers around him.
A true Muslim makes sacrifices for other Muslims and saves them from every possible source
of harm.
In short, a believer is a protector of other Muslims.
ACTIONS:
Let him who believes in Allah and the Last Day either speak good or keep silent, and let him
who believes in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his neighbour, and let him who believes
in Allah and the Last Day be generous to his guest.
BELIEFS:
This hadith tells us that the faculty of speech is a great blessing of Allah.
The responsible use of this gift can spread peace in society whereas the negative usage can
shake the society’s foundations.
Speaking good is the quality of a true Muslim.
When a Muslim has nothing good to talk about, he decides to remain silent.
Another aspect of this hadith is related to the polite and kind and generous treatment of
others especially neighbors and guests.
According to many sayings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), a person from whom his neighbors and
guests are displeased is not a true Muslim.
Kind and fair treatment of neighbors is the key to paradise.
Hospitality is an important attribute of a believer. Not only this, it is also a Sunnah of the
Holy Prophet (PBUH).
ACTIONS:
According to this hadith, a Muslim should use his ability of speaking to promote good.
He should also teach Quran and Sunnah to others.
He should not lie, backbite and pass humiliating comments for others.
He should also avoid using abusive and vulgar words.
We must also be a source of comfort for our neighbors. We must not listen to loud music
which can be discomforting for the neighbors.
If the neighbors are in need, we must share their good and bad times and extend our moral
and financial help as and when needed.
We should take good care of the people who visit us.
We should make them sit comfortably and serve them to the best of our abilities.
They should not be considered a burden. We should entertain them through interesting
company and should not irritate them through our behavior.
HADITH #4
A man asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and give him peace): Do you think
that if I perform the obligatory prayers, fast in Ramadan, treat as lawful that which is lawful
and treat as forbidden that which is forbidden, and do nothing further, I shall enter
paradise? He said: Yes.
BELIEFS:
This hadith emphasizes upon the observance of the pillars of Islam with a special mention of
prayers and fasting.
To b e deserving of paradise, a person has to follow the basic principles of Islam.
Muslims believe that prayer differentiates a believer from a non-believer. It gives Muslims an
opportunity to hold communication with Allah. Prayer, when done with sincere intentions,
keeps a man away from shameful and unjust deeds.
Fasting is also an important institution in Islam. It makes a person pious as he avoids all the
evil activities during fasting and a Muslim makes effort to help the poor Muslims after
undergoing the experience of hunger himself.
This hadith tells us that the Paradise is meant for the pious people only. These are the people
who have full knowledge of the lawful and the unlawful.
These people live their lives doing what is lawful and avoiding what is forbidden. This way they
shall enter paradise.
ACTIONS:
Every person’s every joint must perform a charity every day the sun comes up: to act justly
between two people is a charity; to help a man with his mount, lifting him onto it or hoisting
up his belongings onto it is a charity; a good word is a charity; every step you take to prayers
is a charity; and removing a harmful thing from the road is a charity.
BELIEFS:
This hadith focuses on the performance of good acts for the benefit of others and declares
every act as an act of charity.
The concept of charity in Islam is quite broad.
It includes sacrifice of our time, energy and finance for the sake of others.
According to this hadith, the reward for helping others is equivalent to their merit of giving
financial support to others.
To resolve differences among people, to help people with their load and to remove harmful
things from the path of the people are few examples of the actions declared as charitable
acts.
A true Muslim is one who is a source of benefit for others and who lives his life to save
people from any possible kind of harm.
ACTIONS:
Muslims must help other Muslims by settling their disputes and by being fair in the process.
We must not pass decision favoring one person when given an opportunity of settling disputes
among our friends in school.
If we find a piece of broken glass, or some other pointed thing on the road or in the
playground in school, we must remove it to save others from being injured.
We must not throw empty cans on the road in the middle of a journey.
The blind and weak people must be helped when we find them on road by driving them to their
destination.
We must also offer prayers in the mosque in congregation to develop healthy social relations
with the people in our community.
We must feed the hungry human beings and animals.
HADEES #6:
Whosoever of you sees an evil action, let him change it with his hand, and if he is not able to
do so then with his tongue, and if he is not able to do so then with his heart, and that is the
weakest of faith.
BELIEFS:
This Hadees emphasizes upon the idea of elimination of evil from society. According to the
Muslim’s belief, evil has a destructive effect on the values of an Islamic society.
A stable Islamic society comes into being on the basis of justice, fairness and virtue.
Islam expects from Muslims to play an active role in the eradication of evil from society on
the basis of their status and position within the social structure.
The decision of suppressing evil has to be made according to the situation and the power a
person possesses. Evil can be uprooted from a society in a number of ways.
Making physical efforts is the indication of strong faith. However, condemning and criticizing
evil verbally is of immense importance. If the circumstances do not allow recognizing evil as
evil is the least the Muslim can do.
ACTIONS:
In the light of this hadees we learn that all the Muslims who have power and authority must
make efforts to remove injustice, unfairness, corruption and other evils from society.
The government and the legal system must punish all the evil doers according to the degree
of crime they commit to discourage others from committing those evil actions.
The Muslims who have been given the power of speech must use it to condemn and criticize
evil in society.
Teachers and scholars must encourage their followers to avoid evil and do good.
When we see younger students in school performing evil actions, we must persuade them to
quit. Those Muslims who have no power and authority to stop evil, must at least abstain
themselves from committing evil.
HADEES #7:
It was said: O Messenger of Allah, who is the most excellent of men? The Messenger of Allah
(may Allah bless him and give him peace) said: ‘The believer who strives hard in the way of
Allah with his person and his property.’
BELIEFS:
This Hadees emphasizes upon the concept of Jihad (striving in the way of Allah) in Islam.
This can be jihad against oneself as well as jihad against oppression and injustice.
Muslims believe that one form of Jihad is to suppress evil wherever it exists. Another form is
fighting to save Islam from aggression and oppression.
Jihad is a form of worship as the person sacrifices his life and property in the path of Allah.
The Quran and Hadis speak very high of the people who die while fighting in the way of Allah.
The Quran tells Muslims not to call those who die in the cause of Allah as dead. Allah has
promised huge rewards for these brave and determined warriors.
This hadis of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) brings attention to two ways of participating in Jihad.
A person who physically participates in Jihad is as important as a person who provides
financial help to those who are fighting in the way of Allah.
Provision of financial support to the less fortunate people is also a form of jihad.
Such people had been declared best Muslims in the eyes of Allah by Prophet (PBUH) because
of their selfless sacrifices.
ACTIONS:
Muslims should display courage in the face of difficulties being posed by the enemies of
Islam.
They should be ready to participate in the war against all the people who are trying to
undermine the religion of Islam.
They should not shun away for the fear of their lives.
Muslim parents must encourage their children to participate in the Jihad if the situation calls
for it.
If the circumstances do not allow to participate directly in jihad, we must support those who
are participating morally as well as financially.
We can help the warriors of Allah by providing them with the means needed to carry out
jihad such as food, transport, weapons etc. The help could be provided in cash or the kind.
HADEES#8:
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and give him peace) said: ‘Whom do you count to
be a martyr among you?’ They said: O Messenger of Allah, whoever is killed in the way of
Allah is a martyr. He said: ‘In that case the martyrs of my community will be very few! He
who is killed in the way of Allah is a martyr, he who dies a natural death in the way of Allah
is a martyr, he who dies in the plague in the way of Allah is a martyr, he who dies of cholera
in the way of Allah is a martyr.’
BELIEFS:
The religion of Islam attaches great importance with the institution of jihad. The Quran tells
a Muslim that a martyr should not be regarded as dead man.
It also promises huge rewards for a person who dies while fighting in the way of Allah.
This hadis declares that a Muslim can acquire the reward of martyrdom even after dying a
natural death or dying of a disease.
The keynote of this hadis is the fact that accepting death without a word of complaint is a
form of worship or a form of jihad.
The main aim of a Muslim’s life is to spend every single moment in the cause of Allah which
means living our life in accordance with the principles of religion of Islam
While living a righteous life, a person who dies of any factor (natural/accidental) will be
rewarded with Heaven.
ACTIONS:
Muslims must follow the principles of Islam in their day to day life because this is regarded
as a form of jihad.
Whenever we contract a disease, we must never utter a word of complain to Allah.
If the area where we live is affected by an epidemic such as cholera or plague, we must not
run to other areas because we might carry with ourselves the germs of that disease which
will cause a spread.
When faced with a painful situation, Muslims must trust in Allah and turn to Him for help and
relief. In short, we must face the path accompanied by any fatal disease with patience and
tolerance.
HADEES#9:
No one eats better food than that which he eats out of the work of his hand.
BELIEFS:
The economic structure of Islam depends on the principle of fairness, justice and hard work.
According to the teachings of Islam, honest and lawful earning is a form of worship.
A person who works hard to earn his livelihood is dear to Prophet (PBUH) as well as Allah.
It’s a great virtue to depend on own efforts instead of depending on the people, such as
begging. Unlawful earning has horrible consequences in the world and the hereafter.
When people indulge in the evils of unlawful earning, they try to snatch away the rights of
deserving people.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) told the Muslims that unlawful earning paves a person’s way to hell,
whereas, lawful earning is a way of getting respect and honor in the eyes of people and Allah.
In short, the best meal a person can eat is earned through lawful means.
ACTIONS:
Muslims must avoid begging to earn their livelihood because this makes a person loose his self
respect.
We should not be lazy and avoid work because food earned without hard work is not valued in
the eyes of Allah.
Theft and bribery must be avoided to protect the rights of others. Muslims must avoid all
the transactions involving in interest because interest causes concentration of money in the
hands of the rich.
Gambling and all other games of chance must be avoided because they make a person greedy.
Whatever we do, whether business or job, we must be honest.
We must fulfill all the responsibilities which our job entails.
HADEES#10:
One who manages the affairs of the widow and the poor man is like the one who exerts
himself in the way of Allah, or the one who stands for prayer in the night or fasts in the day.
BELIEFS:
This hadis emphasizes upon the concept of fulfillment of the rights of fellow beings. Islamic
faith is based on offering worship to Allah and being a source of benefit for fellow beings
around.
The reward of doing good to the weak and needy people is as great as that of offering prayer
and fasting for Allah.
This hadis draws attention to the attending to the needs of poor and helpless people to bring
comfort for them.
The Quran and traditions of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) announce great reward for the people
who bring relief to others through gentle and kind treatment.
The Prophet of Allah (PBUH) said that a person whose heart is devoid of kindness and
compassion will not enter paradise. Widows and poor deserve gentle and generous treatment
due to their social and economically weak position.
ACTIONS:
Muslims must treat the widows kindly. They must not be branded as “jinxed”. If they are
young and willing to marry someone else after the iddat period, they should be allowed to do
so.
The inlaws must not persecute her mentally and physically.
They should not be deprived of the due share of the property of their husband.
They should not be separated from their children in any case.
Another aspect of this hadis is taking care of the poor.
We must not adopt an insulting attitude towards the poor because of their low social status.
We must stand by them in difficult times by bringing a moral support for them.
We must also provide them with financial help to enable them to fulfill their basic needs of
eating, clothing and shelter.
HADITH #11
‘I and the man who brings up an orphan will be in paradise like this.’ And he pointed with his
two fingers, the index finger and the middle finger.
BELIEFS:
This hadith emphasizes upon the need for protecting the rights of the orphans. Muslims
believe that it is an obligation to treat an orphan with kindness as it is mentioned in the Holy
Quran at more than one place.
Kind and gentle treatment of an orphan is believed to be a key to Paradise as the Holy
Prophet (PBUH) said a person who takes care of an orphan, shares his food and drink with
him, Allah will allow him to enter the Paradise.
Islam is a religion that declares service to mankind to be equivalent to worshipping to Allah.
A true Muslim is one who not only fulfils religious obligations such as prayer and fasting but
also becomes a source of benefit and comfort for the people around him.
Bringing up an orphan pleases Allah so much so that a person who does this will be rewarded
to be in the company of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in Paradise.
ACTIONS:
Muslims must protect the orphans from the people who plan to harm them financially and
physically. We should not abuse the orphan children due to their weakness.
Nor should we usurp their property left by their dead parents.
We must make arrangements for the education of orphan children to enable them to grow as
productive citizens.
If circumstances allow, we must adopt an orphan to give him a protected, safe and secure life.
We must not discriminate an orphan after adoption from our own children.
If we ourselves cannot take care of an orphan, we must provide funds to an organization
which does effort for the orphan children. They should not be treated as articles of trade or
forced to beg or commit crime for us.
HADITH #12
The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and give him peace) sent Abu Musa and Mu‘adh
ibn Jabal to Yaman, and he sent each of them to govern a part. Then he said: ‘Be gentle and
do not be hard, and cause rejoicing and do not alienate.’
BELIEFS:
According to this hadith, Muslims believe that leadership is a huge responsibility, which
requires to qualities of being gentle but fair and being accessible and accountable to people.
A leader who is mild and gentle has greater chances of success than a tyrant one. A pious
leadership governed on the principle of doing good for people creates a peaceful and
comfortable society which is the ultimate goal of Islam.
A person who is devoid of kind feelings will not enter Paradise. Another important quality of a
good leader is humbleness.
Pride is an opposite of faith and a leader who feels proud is likely to separate himself from
his people.
In this way he is neither accessible nor accountable to his people. According to this hadith, a
leader who is not approachable is of no good to his people and to Allah.
ACTIONS:
Muslim leaders must make sure that the government they make is a cause of happiness for
the people.
The economic policies should focus on increasing employment and decreasing inflation. Laws
concerning law and order should keep the people safe and secure.
Justice should be available to all regardless of their social, economic and political background.
Muslim leaders should make the best possible use of the resources for the benefit of all the
Muslims.
Leaders should keep the channels of communication between them and people open to receive
feedback and suggestions on the policies they make.
They should welcome the possible criticism and include suggestions of the people in their
policies.
They should not take offense when people criticize them or ask them for explanation as
accountability is an important aspect of effective leadership.
HADITH #13
He who studies the Qur’an is like the owner of tethered camels. If he attends to them he
will keep hold of them, but if he lets them loose they will go away.
BELIEFS:
This hadith draws attention towards the learning of the Holy Quran. Musims believe that the
Holy Quran is a Divine book that contains comprehensive and flawless guidance for Muslims to
apply in all spheres of life.
The recitation of the Holy Quran pleases Allah as it is the foundation of our religion and the
vital source of Islamic rules and regulations.
Regular recitation of the Holy Quran is necessary because a Muslim loses what has been
learnt from the Quran.
The example of a tethered camel suggests that only continuous recitation of the Holy Quran
will make a person contain its teachings in memory to practice in his life.
ACTIONS:
Muslim parents should read the Holy Quran daily and encourage their children to learn the
Quran at an early age.
They must listen to the Holy Quran in an audio form by keeping it in their electronic gadgets.
In this way they will be continuously reminded of the teaching contained in the Quran.
Media also has an important role to play in encouraging the people to revisit the teaching of
the Holy Quran regularly.
Programs based on Quranic teachings can be made regularly at school.
A school can start the day with the recitation of Quran in the morning assembly time to
enable the young children to learn the Quran.
While traveling, instead of listening to the music, we must listen to the Quranic revelation to
develop an understanding of Quran.
HADITH #14
May God show mercy to a man who is kindly when he sells, when he buys, and when he
demands his money back.
BELIEFS:
Muslims believe that the economic system of Islam is based upon the principles of fairness
and justice.
It means that the business transactions which are unjust or cause hardships for the people
involved are not acceptable in Islam.
A number of the sayings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) declare that the person who is kind in
his business dealings with people will enter Paradise.
The display of kindness and generosity on the part of the buyers and sellers is an important
quality of a true believer.
Allah will show mercy to the ones who give other Muslims loans without interest and treat
debtors with mildness and sympathy.
ACTIONS:
The sellers should not sell faulty items to the customer and should not charge abnormal
profits.
The flaws in the product should be brought to the notice of the customers and the price of
products should be set accordingly.
The sellers should not cheat the customer.
The seller should not try to increase the profits by creating artificial shortage.
They buyers should not go for unreasonable bargaining.
They should be willing to pay the due price of the products they wish to buy.
They should not take the things from the shop with the intention of stealing.
They should pay the credit on time.
They should not exhaust the seller by not buying anything after consuming his time for long.
Muslims must be willing to give loans to fellow beings without interest.
They should not force the debtor to repay the loan using threatening ways.
The creditor should choose to write off the loan if he can afford and if he finds the debtor
in a position where he is unable to repay the loan.
HADITH #15
God will not show mercy to him who does not show mercy to others.
BELIEFS:
ACTIONS:
We should forgive the people if they cause us physical and emotional harm.
When our servants commit some error or crime, we should try to forgive them.
If we cannot do so, we may dismiss them without punishing them.
The people in authority such as kings, bosses and managers should treat the people under
them with mercy. They must not create difficult conditions for their subordinates.
The industrialists should not put their workers in unhealthy and dangerous conditions to
works. In case of an accident, the affected should be provided financial and moral help.
We must also treat the younger students in school with mercy and should not bully them for
the sake of fun. The display of mercy is not restricted to humans only.
We should treat animals with mercy also. They should be provided with suitable conditions to
live. They should not be physically harmed. They should not be over-burdened with load and
work.
Hadith# 16
The believers are like a single man; if his eye is affected he is affected, and if his head is
affected he is all affected.
Beliefs:
The moral system of Islam is based upon the concept of brotherhood and fraternity.
The Quran frequently describes believers as brothers.
A number of sayings of Hazrat Muhammad PBUH emphasise upon compassion and humanism
among the believers.
The Holy prophet (pbuh) declared that a true believer is one who has love and compassion for
other believers.
Muslims believe that a person who is a source of discomfort for the believer will not be sent
to Paradise.
This hadith compares Muslims to a human body. When one part of it is in pain, the entire body
feels uncomfortable. It means that grief or misfortune of one Muslim affects not only him
but is a matter of concern for other believers as well.
This hadith implies that it is not worthy of a Muslim to leave the other Muslim in lurch and
busy himself with his own life.
Actions:
Beliefs:
Modesty means abstinence from indecent acts but in Islam it has a wider meaning and scope.
It implies from all those acts which displease Allah. Modesty serves a shield against all kind
of immoralities.
According to the Holy Prophet PBUH modesty and faith are companions, when one goes away
the other follows.
A modest person is one who believes that Allah is All knowing and his public as well as private
life is not hidden from Allah.
Due to this sense he avoids all such words and actions which might cause displeasure of Allah.
Modesty is nothing except goodness. Modesty is of key importance in building the character
of a believer the Holy prophet has declared it “a distinctive quality in Islam”.
The Quran also stresses upon the importance of observing modesty by encouraging men and
women both to observe modesty because all the prophets of Allah were modest people.
Modesty eliminates many evils from societyand helps a person earn respect in the eyes of
others.
Actions:
Muslims should be modest while they are talking with each other this could be done by
avoiding vulgar topics and by adopting a decent tone.
Muslims should observe modesty in terms of dressing as well as by making sure that their
satar is covered and they are not wearing see through or tight dresses.
Muslims should also observe modesty towards people around them by respecting them and by
taking good care of them this could also be done by supporting them in the face of
difficulties financially as well as morally.
Besides this, Muslims can also adopt modest attitude towards other creatures of Allah such
as animals. Hunting animals for pleasure should be avoided. Making them perform insulting
tricks or making them fight for entertainment should be avoided.
In short Muslims should be modest in every way of life in whatever roles they find
themselves in their worldly lives.
Hadith#18
He who has in his heart as much faith as a grain of mustard seed will not enter hell, and he
who has in his heart as much pride as a grain of mustard seed will not enter paradise.
Beliefs:
This Hadith talks about two contrasting concepts i.e. faith and pride. According to Islam,
faith is complete submission of us to the will of Allah.
In this way presence of faith in the believers helps him develop the quality of humanity which
is complete opposite of pride.
It means that a person whose faith is alive will never behave proudly.
Another concept that this Hadith tells is that a believer even with weakest faith will not go
unrewarded after being punished for his sins. He will be ultimately forgiven.
However a person who has even the weakest feeling of pride will be punished severely
because pride is the very negation of faith.
Pride is worst feeling a person can posses because this was the same feeling that made Iblis
accursed.
Pride makes a person feel that everything is in their control and makes them unmindful of
Allah.
In spite of having the highest level of human intelligence and power (worldly), the Holy
prophet PBUH also behaved in a humble manner making it a rule for the believers.
Actions:
Muslims must have a strong belief in Allah and should acknowledge the fact that whatever is
happening in their lives is happening with the will of Allah.
They should always trust on Allah in the times of difficulties with a belief that only Allah is
capable of helping them in the face of problems. Muslims should display humble attitude
towards the people around them.
If they happen to have wealth by virtue of their fate they should not look at the poor with
contempt.
If we succeed in our life, we must attribute our success to Allah and should never feel proud
about it for example: In our student life we must thank Allah for making us able to perform
outstanding in academics instead of feeling proud and disregarding the efforts of our peers.
We must use our power and authority with care if we enjoy a higher positions or rank in any
way.
Hadith # 19
Beliefs:
This Hadith tells us the difference between the way a believer and an unbeliever perceives
this world.
A believer is fully aware of the temporary nature of the world and knows that it is a
cultivating ground for the Hereafter.
This world appears to be a prison for a believer as there are restrictions to follow. On the
other hand, an unbeliever has no sense of accountability and therefore gets involved into all
the pleasure of this world whether good or evil.
A true believer knows that nothing is permanent in this world so the luxuries of this world
fail to attract his attention. Holy prophet PBUH has clearly told the believers that the love
for this world shall have a damaging effect on the nature of the life in Hereafter.
A true believer realises that restrictions laid down by Allah are for benefit of people, not
only in this world but in the other eternal world also.
Actions:
We should not get swept away by the luxuries and the pleasures of this world.
The wealth and the success in this world should not be the main goal of our life.
We must follow all the restrictions that have been laid down in the Quran and sunnah.
We must not accumulate wealth using unlawful means.
We should not try to earn the pleasure of the people by deviating them from the path of
Allah.
We must not resort to cheating during examination to get temporary success in this world all
our actions and intentions must be directed towards the aim of having a better life in the
hereafter.
We should earn only as much as we need for a comfortable living. We should not get lost in
earning so much that we fail to fulfil our religious and social obligations.
Hadith #20
God does not look at your forms and your possessions, but he looks at your hearts and your
deeds.
Beliefs:
Muslims believe that Allah is a just and fair judge. Who would assess the humanity on the
basis of actions.
They perform and the intention with which they perform these actions.
On the Day of Judgement, our external beauty and wealth will be of no worth because
judgement will not be based upon things like these as men has little control over his physical
appearance and Material wealth. Allah knows and therefore is in full of knowledge of
whatever is contained in our hearts and in our minds.
He will not just look on good or bad actions which we perform in our lives but will focus on the
intention with which those actions were performed. A good action performed to seek the
pleasure of people will be of no worth, in the eyes of Allah.
Sincerity is crucial to earn the pleasure of Allah.
Actions:
The sole purpose of life of a Muslim should be to earn the pleasure of Allah
Prayer, fasting, zakat and hajj must be performed with the sincere intention of following the
commands of Allah not with the view of making an impression of our pity and generosity upon
people.
We must help the poor and needy, with the belief that helping these people will please Allah,
instead of flaunting our goodness
We should not assess the people on the basis of how charming they look and how much wealth
they have.
They should be judged on the basis of their character.
The poor and rich should not be discriminated because of their material wealth.
We must respect every human being regardless of their social class and status to create a
peaceful and safe society.
