1. Greece occupies the southernmost part of the Balkan Peninsula. It is an island and peninsular
country, bordering Macedonia and Bulgaria to the north, Turkey to the east and Albania to the
west
2. 2. It has a favorable geographical position because it faces the Mediterranean, Ionian and
Aegean Seas. It covers an area of 131,957 km2 and has 10,950,000 inhabitants
3. 3. The relief in Greece is mostly mountainous, and the most important are the mountains:
Gramos, Pindus, Parnassus, Tayget, and the highest mountain is Olympus, 2917 meters high.
There are lowlands in the north such as Thessalonica and Serska, and Thessaly in the south

5. 5. The most famous rivers that flow through Greece are Vardar, Struma, Maritsa, Mesta,
Bistrica, etc.
