Description: Starting in 2020, I began learning to play the piano by watching various tutorials
on YouTube and honing my skills at home. It took me a while to feel comfortable playing
without relying on music notes taped to the keys. Driven by my enjoyment of the piano's sound, I
expanded my interests into sports, particularly volleyball. Despite encountering a full team, I
persisted, continuing with my practices. Recently, I achieved the skill of hand whistling after two
months of practice, finding the experience quite satisfying and directing my focus towards
learning. Having lived here for almost six years, I realized a bit of a disconnect from my Persian
roots. With the support of my parents, I was able to reconnect and enhance my writing skills. In
2015, I travelled to Toronto to visit relatives, braving the extremely cold weather that my family
and I had to adapt to. I also managed to secure my first job at 15 amidst high inflation in Surrey.
Later, I moved to Langley, distributing about 60 resumes to attain my second job at 17. My
passion for creating dance videos at home and sharing them with a broader audience resulted in
one of my performances gaining 30k views. In 2019, I joined a youth group, participating in
making food for the homeless. During that period, I developed a passion for song recording,
sharing my process on an app called "BandLab." I also explored creating short edits of my
favourite characters and posting them on YouTube. Currently, my YouTube channel has
accumulated a total of 200k views.

Personal Relevancy:
- In my culture, playing an instrument is a common skill among family members. Therefore, I
felt it was crucial not to be the odd one out.
- Prioritizing an active and fit lifestyle, I took Volleyball seriously and even attempted to join a
team to enhance my skills.
- After watching a video where a Native woman educated others about the Hand whistle, I
became interested in learning the skill myself.
