be in writing and shall cover those
designated actions employers and
employees must take to ensure
employee safety from fire and other
emergencies.
Regulatory

evacuation plan.
3. To ensure prompt raising of the fire alarm
and marshalling of first aid fire fighting
efforts.
4. To establish responsibilities of individuals
involved in handling emergencies
 Manager/Employer (Final decision
maker - FDM)
 Incident Commander (IC)
 Emergency Response Team (ERT)
 Floor Warden (FW)
 Maintenance Workers (MW)
 OSH Committee (OC)
 First aiders (FA)
 Ensure:
◦ emergency risk assessments are
conducted and documented
◦ emergency evacuation and rescue
program is maintained
◦ all facilities have accessible exit
routes
◦ exit routes - marked and have
emergency lighting as required
◦ local emergency response plans are
in place
◦ workers are trained in fire
prevention, emergency evacuation
and rescue
◦ an IC is appointed
◦ Establish policy to designate FW

7 steps of Fire ERP
1. Maintain a regular basis and ensure that
fire emergency system works perfectly
2. Emergency fire alarm bell ringing
3. Contact the Fire and Rescue Department
4. Disconnect all electrical supplies
5. Vacate the building immediately
6. Assemble safe place and check the list of
employees
7. Extinguish the fire (if necessary)

What we should knows?


• Alarm type or model
• Location of the emergency alarm
• How it works and what kind of
sound
• Type or duration of sound
• The way of information is
communicated to the control
center
• The first person who finds or see
fire must activate alarm
How to communicate with the BOMBA?
• All emergency fire was reported to the head of PTJ
accurately and clearly.
• Report to the BOMBA should be complete by the
right procedure and technique (IC need for
training).
• Make sure all communication facilities to contact
the BOMBA is always in good condition and can
be used.
Disconnect all electrical supplies

They were tasked to make


consideration of all safety

decision, either:
• Stop some machine /
process; or
• Cut off all power supply.
Vacate the building immediately
FW to act so;
1. All the workers were able to save
themselves.
2. Investigate the whole area in its custody
as surau, toilets, remote places etc.
3. Employees leaving the building in an
orderly and organized when you hear
the sound of the fire alarm.
Moving calmly and fast (don’t panic)
through the exit route (label by EXIT)
Assemble safe place
FW should ensure that;
1. A gathering place safe from the scene of
the fire
2. A safe and protected from other hazards.
3. If the self-assembled area on the
premises unsafe, ask for the cooperation
of the premises adjacent to converge in
their area.
Check the list of employees

FW should ensure that;


1. Ensure no accidents or injuries.
2. Immediately take the arrival of all
those present at the gathering place
3. Check the list of employees
4. Report the situation to the IC
Extinguish the fire (if necessary)
ERT should ensure that;
1. Whether the fire fighting operations
should be carried out or not.
2. If the fire is small, try extinguish the
existing fire used appropriate
equipment
3. If a major fire, the main action is to
move all the residents of the building
safely
