Research and Experiment:

• I want to research and learn more about Piano. This is because I enjoy playing piano in my free
time and had an interest in improving my piano skills. If I do this capstone I would research and
learn more about how to piano cord for jazz and the scales for jazz piano.

Inquiry Question 1: What existing skills or knowledge do you have (or want to gain or improve) to help
you be successful with your project?

• I’ve had played piano for around 2 years in a half by playing in the praise team in my church that
I go to. From there I have strong basic skills for piano chords. From here to improve and learn
more I would like to gain more knowledge in the jazz chords and cord progression that care used
in jazz.

Inquiry Question 2: How would you present your project?

• I would present by filming videos of myself learning piano and practicing. Also, film a final video
of me playing jazz or any song that contains chords.

Inquiry Questions 4: Who might be able to help/guide me?

• By looking up online and finding sources such as videos on websites that explain the music
theory. Also, by asked my peers who have been playing piano.

Inquiry Questions 5: Why does this project interest you?

• This topic interests me since in my daily life I like to listen to piano songs jazz or Hillsong, this
makes me want to play piano and play like the actual song. Also, I play piano for my church
praise team, making me enjoy and have interest in presenting my project.

• If I do a product creation for my capstone project, I will create a game by coding

• From this project, I get to learn how to code which will be useful for my post-secondary
education.

you be successful with your project?

• I’ve already learnt some coding from last year computer programming, where I learn the
language python. This will be helpful for me when I do my capstone project, also I want to learn
other coding languages such as C++, C#, Java, JavaScript etc....

• I will be presenting my capstone project by showing my overall progression in the journey of


learning coding. Also, I will be showing the game that I created for my final capstone product.

• I have an interest in coding since I enjoy playing video games, which made me naturally have an
idea that “why don’t I try making it?”

Inquiry Questions 5: Who might be able to help/guide me?

• During the capstone project, I will ask my friends who know how to code when I face challenges
and my school coding teacher if I am stuck.

Inquiry Questions 6: Which sources can help you with your research?

• I will be using “W3schools” for this project since it is a great online source when it comes to self-
teaching coding.
