1. Waltz Disney

Born: December 5, 1901 (Chicago, Illinois, U.S.)


Die: December 15, 1966 (Los Angeles, California)

• founder and creator of Disneyland.


•The Disney Company he founded has become one of the world’s largest
entertainment conglomerates.
• His major accomplishments include producing the first synchronized sound
cartoon, Steamboat Willie (1928); initiating the use of the three-color process in
animation for motion pictures; producing the first feature-length animated
picture, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937); and creating the family theme
park Disneyland.
• He was a pivotal figure in the development of the animation industry.
• He planned Epcot and founded the California Institute of the Arts.
• We learned a lot from Disney starting from the power of imagination to the
attention to the details. Disney self discipline in attention and continues creating
of a magical Innovation set him apart. He didn’t feel scared by doing the first
animation entertainment but enjoyed it the most. Lastly, Passion Paves the Way”:
Disney’s passion drove his lifelong commitment. Lesson: Passion fuels the journey
towards innovation.
2. Bill Gates

Born: October 28, 1955 (Seattle, Washington, U.S.)


• American computer programmer and entrepreneur who cofounded Microsoft
Corporation, the world’s largest personal-computer software company.
• Wrote his self programmed at the age of 13.
•he helped form a group of programmers who computerized their school’s payroll
system and founded Traf-O-Data, a company that sold traffic-counting systems to
local governments.
• The most obvious contribution Bill Gates has made was his foundation of
Microsoft Corporation.
• Microsoft has changed the world through software such as Microsoft Windows,
which most people are familiar with. Windows allows people to store, share,
present, and edit information, as well as giving people access to the world wide
web.
• Bill Gates is a Voracious Reader, Bill Gates believes that reading is the way
through which he learns new things, and reading even helps him to test his
understanding. Moreover, reading allows Bill Gates to explore a new area or
domain of knowledge
• Gates knows how to prioritize. However, a person’s success or failures is
determined by his habits and prioritization and time management plays a vital
role in making a person successful or a failure. Moreover, the founder of Microsoft
knows it pretty well. He makes sure that he manages his time meticulously to
ensure essential commitments.
• Bill Gates believes in his Ideas In the early 1980s, Bill Gates, along with Steve
Ballmer, traveled around the country where they delivered seminars telling the
audience how the graphic interface was to become the OS in the future.
• Bill Gates is a Smart Worker Most of the people consider that he does not work
much, yet he gets results. However, the reality is that he works smartly and does
not believe in showing off what he is doing.

3. Henry Sy

Born: October 15, 1924 (Jinjiang, Fujian, Republic of China)


Die: January 19, 2019 (aged 94) Manila, Philippines

•When the family of Henry Sy migrated to the Philippines from Quanzhou, China.
As he wasn’t born in a family with a golden spoon, at 12 years old, he started helping
for his father’s small sari-sari store in Quiapo Manila. Unfortunately, during the
Second World War, their small stores burned down which leaves no choice for
Henry’s father to go back to China.
• Henry Sy’s riches began in the 1950s, following the Pacific War. His first store (SM
Carriedo) was created in 1958, and his first supermall (SM North Edsa) was
constructed in 1985. From there, many large malls, like “SM City,” emerged
throughout Metro Manila and in major cities in the provinces.
• Although he did not attend UP, he did contribute a building to the university’s BGC
campus. Even the most well-known political families in the country cannot recreate
all of these.
• In 2017, his conglomerate giant SM Investments Corporation acquired a 34.5%
share in 2GO Group Inc., the country’s largest shipping company with
comprehensive supply-chain operations that include freight forwarding,
warehousing, and delivery services.
• He partnered with Jam Liner’s My Bus to form the Metro Rapid Transit System Inc.
(MRTSI) in 2015. MRTSI, or known as My Bus aims to improve the mass transport
system in Cebu City. The bus company operates low-floor city bus units, such as the
Volvo B7R, Mercedes Benz Conceto, and Daewoo BF106.
• He demonstrated innovative thinking, a willingness to take risks, and a strong
focus on growth and expansion. Throughout his career, Sy, the founder of SM
Group, one of the Philippines’ largest and most diversified conglomerates,
consistently identified market opportunities and pursued them with vigor.
• they Set a long-term vision – When the group started investing in mainland China
at the turn of the millennium, the strategy was to be there for the long haul. If China
is 10 times bigger than the Philippines in terms of consumer base, then there’s a
big room to set up new malls, but the group’s strategy has been to target third-tier
cities rather than slug it out in the biggest ones.
• They Think big, start small, move fast – In other for a when he was still CFO of SM,
Sio also talked about the importance of keeping enough liquidity in the war chest.
In a world where cash is king, having the cash to put on the table is seen crucial to
closing deals swiftly.
