In 1534, in a Cistercian Monastery close to the
city of Zaragoza, was prepared for the first
time in Europe the recipe of the chocolate.
The chocolate-making tradition started in the 16th
century and lasted over the centuries. Numerous
chocolate shops, cake shops and companies were
founded in the city in the 19th century are still up and
running.
