Axalta™ 1K Fine Putty 705
GENERAL
DESCRIPTION
A one-component putty based on a special acrylic resin combination that requires no
additional components for drying. Axalta™ 1K Fine Putty 705 has a neutral light beige color
and is suitable for touching up prepared substrates or can also be applied on bare sheet
metal. Axalta™ 1K Fine Putty 705 spreads on very easily and pore-free and after a short
drying time can be very easily sanded.

SPECIAL TIPS
1. Axalta 1K Fine Putty 705 may not be applied over bare aluminum or galvanized
panels and is also not suitable for use on plastic parts.
2. Minimum drying temperature for Axalta 1K Fine Putty 705 is 59°F/15°C.
APPLICATION
SUBSTRATES
Old or original paintwork well sanded and cleaned (except reversible substrates, Example:
lacquer)
Surfaces pretreated with 2K polyester products and then finely sanded and cleaned
Fully cured 2K Surfacers or 2K Epoxy Primer-surfacer sanded and cleaned Steel
SURFACE PREPARATION
1. Degrease per Axalta™ Silicone Remover TDS
2. Sand per primer TDS reccomendations
3. Prior to applying a sanding surfacer, sand body filler with P180 or finer grit
sandpaper and/or sand feather edge areas with P180, then P240, and finish with
P320.
4. Before further treatment, clean all substrates thoroughly. Refer to Axalta™ Silicone
Remover TDS
APPLICATION
Apply with a putty knife or razor blade in thin coats approximately 10 minutes apart.
DRY TIMES
AIR DRYING
Drying time at 68°F/20°C: Approximately 30-60 minutes depending on
a film thickness
INFARED DRYING
Approximately 4-6 minutes
DRY SANDING
Sanding P400 – 800
RECOAT
With appropriate filler, surfacer and/or sealer from Cromax®, Spies Hecker®, or Standox®.

For industrial use only by professional, trained painters. Not for sale to or use by the general
public. Before using, read and follow all label and SDS precautions. If mixed with other
components, mixture will have hazards of all components.
Ready to use paint materials containing isocyanates can cause irritation of the respiratory
organs and hypersensitive reactions. Asthma sufferers, those with allergies and anyone with
a history of respiratory complaints must not be asked to work with products containing
isocyanates.
Do not sand, flame cut, braze or weld dry coating without a NIOSH approved air purifying
respirator with particulate filters or appropriate ventilation, and gloves.
