1a Imagine you are on a TV cooking programme. Demonstrate a simple recipe (for example, a
sandwich or a salad). Say what ingredients you need and show how to make the recipe.

Think and Plan


First, make some notes. Use these questions to help you:

• What dish are you making?


• Which ingredients do you need?
• What do you do first, next, etc?
• What do you heat / pour / add, etc. in each part of the recipe?

1b Watch another student demonstrate their recipe and say what you think. Be helpful and
positive.

1c Present your recipe to the class.

2 You want to have a meal together with friends. You need to choose a restaurant. First, look
at the special dishes from three restaurants and tick your favourite dish in each restaurant.

4 You want to cook Spanish tortilla. Your friend is going shopping to help you. Read the list of
ingredients and your notes:

Ingredients
6 eggs – we only have 4
1 kg potatoes – only one small potato
6 large onions – no onions!
olive oil – we need more
salt – no salt in cupboard!
