make sure thatthere are no other perts obstructing the
cables end all components between the remote contro!

Measure the distance along the actual cable routing
and add 300-450 mm {12-18 in} to the measure-
ment,
ending diameter of 8 cable must ney

If the cable is routed In @ tight arc, resistanee on the
contol lever wil Increase, and smoath throttle operstion
will no fonger be possible. This may lead to a lass of
Control ofthe craft.
= The cable fength must be calculated in such way
that unresticted operation is possible. even if the
‘outboard motors are tilted or tured to one side,
* If tye cable becomes slack at some pole of the routing,
erftishardto route the cable normally, add some extra
length to the cable length,

1. Flemove the nut, rod seal and boot from the
cable end (remote controt end).
2. Install the adapter sieeve.
3. Insert the etainer clip aligning it with the cable
hub groove and bend the clip as shown to secure.

Donot avertighten.

starboard side. For connection to the other types of the

page and connect the control eable to the cotresponding
arm properly.

module back plate.

mack dri points for installing the screws,

and screws.

Proper installation and pre-dellvety service are essentlal to operator safety and the reliability
of the machine. Any error or aversight made by the technician installing and servicing anew
unit can easily result in faulty operation, damage to the machine, or injury to the operator.

improper set-up or pre-dellvery service can cause an.un-
safe condition that can lead to serious injury or death.
Follow the procedures and precautions in set-up and
pre-dellvery instructions and shop manuals carefull
Some of the most important safety precautions are given below. However, we cannot warn
you of every concelvable hazard that can arise in performing installation and pre-delivery
service. Only you can decide whether or not you should perform a given task.
Failure ta properly follow set-up and pre-dellvery instevc-
tlons and precautions cen cause you ta be serfously hurt
or killed.
Follow the procedures and precautions in set-up and
re.detivery instructions carefully.
IMPORTANT SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Be sure you have a clear understanding of alt basic shop safety practices and that you are
wearing appropriate clothing and safety equipment. When peitorming maintenance or repelrs,
be especially careful of the following:
*Read the instructions before you begin, and be sure you have the tools and skills required to
perform the tasks safely.
Be sure the engine is off before you begin any maintenance or repairs. This will reduce the
possible of several hazards:
