An Experimental Study On The Soil Stabilization Method by Adding The Calcium Chloride and The Sodium Chloride

This document describes an experimental study on soil stabilization using calcium chloride (CaCl2) and sodium chloride (NaCl). The study aimed to modify the engineering properties of black cotton soil and red soil through chemical stabilization. Specifically, the study sought to improve soil strength, stiffness, durability and resistance to water effects. The methodology involved mixing the soils with 0%, 5%, 10% and 15% of the chemicals. A series of tests were then conducted on the samples, including specific gravity, plastic limit, liquid limit, CBR and unconfined compression, to analyze the effects on soil properties. The results showed improvements in properties like strength and compression resistance with the addition of chemicals up to an optimum percentage.
